Chica Y Chico Mat Fix Matt Lip Josephine (003) Review:

It will be a lie if a girl can get enough with just one lip product. I myself is a big lippie fan so I often check for new lip products (mostly Korean products). At that time I came across this because this product can be found in Althea Korea as a part of their “Romantic Date” box which released around April. I was quite impressed with the products inside the box, including this lip product. I quickly fell in love with this color among the other shades from this line.

The thing is, first, I actually never tried any matte lip cream before so this one is my first matte lip cream / lip tint. What everyone might be worried about is that a matte texture lip products make your lips turned cracky. I need to say that this matte lip tint does not. The active ingredients in this product is the main star as it contain Apple Seed Oil, Avocado Oil and Rose Hip Oil.

Second, I never tried a product by Chica Y Chico but I heard of them pretty often since last year. From what I discovered, this line is their first lip product. So let’s check out how the performance of this product!

The product comes with a black box which has a doff texture to it. The box has several explanations in both English and Korean, but the ingredients are only written in Korean. Meanwhile, the packaging itself comes in a sleek design.

I’m not sure whether it is a fragile one or not as I try my best not to drop this lip cream, but then I can feel that it is a pretty thick glass.

It is pretty hard to pull out the applicator since the doe foot brush is quite big, the biggest I have ever seen. It has a pretty long wand too which makes it easier to apply on the lip.

The big and wide applicator somehow help people with thicker lips for a faster way to cover the whole lip while it might be a little tricky for people with thinner lips as it may cause a little mess if they do not be extra careful with it.

Also, I can say that this lip tint has a lot of product inside. I was not really careful about twisting the cap once so as a result you can see in the pictures that the rim is super messy. So make sure to twist the cap tightly once you are done applying this on your lip!

For the texture of this product, despite having “matt” as the product name, the texture is more like a creamy lip tint for me and it leaves a velvety finish.

The product will not go dry quickly as it provides lips with moisture because of its oil ingredients. The scent of this lip product is just like your normal lip cream, nothing so special about it and it is not a strong scent.

Once I applied this on the lips, it will give off a nude brownish pink shade on my lips which is very wearable. If I use a lip concealer beforehand, it will turn into a nudish pink shade.

Whereas if I do not, it will turn out into a beautiful brownish pink MLBB color and is very suitable for a natural daily make up look.

The thing to remember is this lip tint is not a kiss proof one since it will leave stain on my cup or straw whenever I drink or eat and the color will start to fade but it is still there.

Also, I choose to re-apply rather than re-touch for this product as it will make my lip texture becomes tacky after if I choose to re-apply.

If I do not eat or drink from a glass, the color will stay for like 5 to 6 hours long and it can stay even longer if you use top coat or lip balm on top of this product.

To this point, I like this lip tint as a go-to choice when I do not want to wear tint in a ‘red’ or ‘pink’ shade. I usually use this along with a blusher (which come up in the Althea box too) because the color suits my face skin tone and it can give off a feminine feel.

The performance is also quite good for a lip tint with velvety texture even though Peripera offered a wider range of color with cheaper price and a better formula, but I think this shade is one of the shade that every girl should have for their collection.

I will definitely repurchase if I have not found any product with better formula in an exact or more or less the same shade with this Chica Y Chico Matt Lip.
