[Review] Etude House AC Clean Up Daily Cleansing Foam

Etude House AC Clean Up Daily Cleansing Foam Review:

The cleansing part of everyone’s skincare is one of the most flexible ones. Chances are, all of us are more likely to repurchase a certain serum or essence than a cleanser. That’s why you get to try a large variety of cleansers throughout your life. What does all that mean?

The more products you try the more chances there are that one of them will break you out. This cleanser is here to change that as it is non-comedogenic. That means that your skin won’t react in a bad way to it! This cleanser also contains Salicylic Acid, which is a great exfoliator for acne skin, glycerin, that works great as a moisturizer against acne and betaine, an amino acid that gives hydration to the skin.

All that and a couple of other people that I saw raving about this product, led me to purchasing it.

Claims:

This product claims to work against acne and to have a soothing effect on sensitive skin.

Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Myristic Acid, Peg-32, Potassium Hydroxide, Lauric Acid, Butylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Hydrated Silica, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Salicylic Acid, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Peg-90M, Disodium Edta, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance

Etude House AC Clean Up Daily Cleansing Foam Review:

When I ordered this product, even though I was aware of all the benefits that I could get from it( mentioned above), I was still not expecting much from it. I thought no cleanser would be better than the CosRx Salicylic Acid cleanser.

It turns out, I wasn’t that wrong. While this cleanser didn’t  do anything in terms of improving my acne’s situation, it did do what it claimed to. A cleanser is supposed to clean your skin at first and then improve your skin’s condition.

I can’t deny that it effectively cleans your skin from all the leftovers and dead skin cells. It leaves your skin with that squeaky-clean feeling but without drying it out. It’s not strong so it’s great to use in the morning where you just want to remove your previous night’s skincare routine from your face, and after a day where your skin is breaking out or behaving badly and you need something extra to fight that. It generally is very gentle to the skin.

A very small amount is enough for your face, as it foams up amazingly well. I personally squeeze out the amount of a small green pea. That’s more than enough for my face and neck (yes, skincare is important for the neck too). The texture is very creamy and as the cleanser foams up, it keeps a thick consistency that feels wonderful on the face.

I tend to over-wash my face because of this product. If I were to describe it, it feels just like a cloud rubbing your face would feel; if that’s possible. As far as washing the cleanser out from your face, just a slight splash of water is enough. No residue remains and your skin is left feeling clean and refreshed.

As for its smell and packaging, it smells like lime and the package is simple, the same as most cleansing tubes, with a neat design. The neater the design of a product is, the more safe I feel while using it. Maybe it’s just in my head but I feel like the brand isn’t depending on the packaging to sell but on the product’s actual properties.

While this product didn’t miraculously clear up my acne like it did for many other people, it did what it claimed to do. Maybe it just didn’t work for me but I’m definitely not amazed with this cleanser. While there are many other cleansers that are worse than this one, there’s also plenty that are better than it.

I personally wouldn’t repurchase this one but I would recommend this to people with sensitive skin and get breakouts from time to time. The good thing is that there’s nothing to be afraid about with this particular cleanser, you have nothing to lose!
