Hada Labo is the first skincare line that I purchased when I started my Asian Beauty (AB) journey. At that time, I was looking for something that moisturizes and hydrates, and Hada Labo instantly pops up as they are well-known for their Super Hyaluronic Acid. I ended up buying their cleanser, their famous hydrating lotion, a moisturizer and also this UV White Gel.

How to use:
It can be used as (1) a sunscreen, (2) a mask (by applying a thicker layer), and as (3) makeup base/face primer.
I normally use it as mentioned in the first and third option. I haven’t tried using it as a mask though because I don’t want to waste it, but I read about someone who used it as a mask and she said it helped to heal her redness and sunburn, so yeah, I might try it one day >.<
My Skin Type: Combination to oily skin/minor PIH
Hada Labo Koi-Gokujyun UV White Gel SPF 50+ PA++++ Review:
Well, firstly the texture is not gel-like but it’s more of a light cream. The color is white but it doesn’t leave any white cast. The best part is it doesn’t have any smell or fragrant.
It does have some ingredients that’s high-marked on the safety scale and one of it is methylparaben but luckily I haven’t had any bad experience or breakouts from using this product (thank God!).
I’ve been using this product for two and a half months now. Although I don’t see any major/dramatic changes, it does works well as a moisturizing sunscreen and also as a makeup base. After applying it, it does leave my face a bit sticky but I would pat it in for better absorption and I would always wear powder on top of it. Makeup application is easy after that and my makeup does lasts throughout the day.
It’s quite a big tub for 90g, I mean I’ve already used it for almost three months and there’s still a lot of product left. I think it will last for another 2-3 months tops. But because the tub is quite bulky, it’s not very convenient for travelling so I would decant it into a small travel container that I bought from Daiso.
I don’t necessarily love this product, but I do like it. It works well enough as a moisturizing sunscreen. I won’t repurchase it though, simply because since I’ve been more into this AB journey, I’d like to try other sunscreens out there that might work better for me (eyeing the Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream).
I would recommend this product to someone who has dry/normal/combination skin because of its moisturizing properties but not for those who have oily skin as this might be too heavy for them.
