Muji Peelable Cotton Pads Review

Muji Peelable Cotton Pads | Review

Check out that almost depleted bag of precious Muji peelable cotton pads 🙁 I hauled a bunch of different types from Muji (cut cotton, cut cotton unbleached, peelable cotton, and cotton puff) in various sizes, and peelable cotton was my favorite of the 4 due to its versatility! Read more to find out why.

Ingredients: Cotton.

Volume: 60 pieces.

How to use:

Apply product directly to cotton pad or use it to wipe off product from your face.

Muji Peelable Cotton Pads Review:

So when I bought all this cotton in a haul a long time ago.

Muji Peelable Cotton Pads Review

It obviously took me a long time to use everything up (half a year?)

Muji cut cotton is pretty well known for being good quality, but there are other ways in which they fare better than your standard, drugstore cotton pads. This review is specifically for the peelable cotton because, although it took more work to use, it was the most fun. Every pad is thick and made up of 4 layers, which you have the option of peeling shown in the pic below:

I usually peel all of them and soak each piece in toner/essence, which I then apply directly to my face as an impromptu sheet mask. 3 of the 4 pieces is plenty to cover my face because of the large size. Sometimes, I’ll do this during my toner step as an added boost of hydration, or just because it feels so damn good. Each individual peeled slice looks as shown in image below:

The size and thickness is perfect for soaking in product and applying it on your face, but not wasting it. Compared to other cotton pads which soak up everything and give none of it back, Muji cotton pads are very generous with their return. If they weren’t such a luxury purchase, I would stock this forever.

Conclusion:

I would give 4/5. The perfect cotton pad for sheet masking, or generally anything really. Gives a good bang for your buck if you use cotton pads a lot for that purpose, but otherwise is a bit pricey. It is also a bit difficult to procure if you don’t happen to have access to a physical store, since the shipping for the online Muji store is also not very cheap.

Where to buy:

  1. I totally agree with your review. We do have an actual Muji store in Berlin, Germany and I just recently got there peelable cotton pads & their light toning water to try. Love my “homemade” sheet mask quite a lot. If that toner wouldn’t be that expensive, I would buy it all the time I think. But then again, you can just go ahead and use your favorite toner or essence. It doesn’t have to be the Muji one – even though it’s quite gentle & works well with my sensitive skin.
Would you say these peelable ones are your favorite Japanese cotton pads? I haven’t tried others yet…
