[Review] New 2017 Mediheal Capsule 100 Bio Seconderm Clear Hyaluronic Acid Mask

Mediheal Capsule 100 Bio Seconderm Clear Hyaluronic Acid Mask Sheet Review:

I have been so excited about this mask! First of all, it’s Mediheal and I have loved all their masks that I’ve tried so far (or at least I have been pleased with them) and this one is actually on TV commercials and they make it look so good. So I got my hands on one and used it and now I’m writing to let you know how it feels!

It’s a double mask that comes with a mask sheet and an ampoule, and this one has my beloved hyaluronic acid. I know this mask isn’t the most popular outside Korea but it has been quite hype here since its release so I thought it would be a good addition to my collection.

Claims:

-Tones down the black pores. Reduces the skin temperature for 4.7 C degrees.

-The hyaluronic acid gives the skin brightness, and the bio cellulose gives a strong moisture.

-The bio cellulose sheet comes from natural coconut water and makes sure the essence keep being pushed into your skin, without drying on your face. The capsule is like a collagen water tank with elastine that also moisturizes your skin.

Ingredients:

Capsule:

Water, 1,2-hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylecylglycerin

Mask:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Glycereth-26, 1,2-hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Diethoxyethyl Succinate, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Betaine, Carbomer, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Allantoin, Salicylic Acid, Phenyl Trimethicone, Potassium Hydroxide, Disodium Edta, Boswellia Serrata Resin Extract, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Extract, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Elaeagnus Glabra Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Leaf Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil

Volume: 4ml (capsule), 23ml (mask)

How to use:

  1. The mask is between two mesh sheets, remove them and apply the mask on your face.
  2. Wait for 20 to 30 minutes.
  3. The mask should start drying by the time you remove it (not dry completely, but not be as soaking wet as it was when you first applied it).
  4. Make the skin absorb the remaining essence by patting it gently.
  5. Once it’s absorbed apply the capsule as much as you want, and spread it gently on your face.

My Skin Type: Oily T, dry U, sensitive, blemishes easily, and allergic. Dry, sensitive and allergic lips. Very thin, dehydrated and oily eyelids.

They don’t mention anything about washing the face and applying toner, so I did it since that’s the normal first step for most masks.

The bottom part is actually the first step, and it opens easily and without a mess.

The mask seems very bulky and harsh, but that’s before removing the mesh sheets that keep it moist.

When I grabbed it to remove it from the pouch I could feel the thick essence on my hands right away.

I removed the second cover after the mask was resting on my face since the mask itself is really thin and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to unfold it properly.

The first layer peeled off easily, I wish I had removed both of them before applying but oh well!

As you can see, the mask is gel-like and very thin. Since it adheres so well the fit doesn’t really matter much, it also “stretched” on my nose area and ended up adhering there properly too! That is very nice.

The only con regarding the fit is that around my mouth area it keeps sliding down (and on my eye area too but the top part is so long that my forehead never uncovered). Also the mouth hole was a little small. Other than that it stretched and folded so well that my facial skin was completely covered.

The scent is weak and similar to many Hyaluronic Acid products. Being used to 15 to 20 minutes of masking, waiting for 20 to 30 minutes feels like an eternity, but it does give me time to take notes and relax.

The essence is thick and sticky, and feels like a melted version of the mask on my face and I honestly hate that feeling. But I love the feeling it leaves on the skin, so hydrated.

The capsule pouch is a pain to open, but I managed without scissors.

The capsule itself is very easy to snap open.

In this case I feel no smell. Maybe there is some but it must be so weak I can’t feel it. It is very intense and very rich in the feeling it leaves on the skin, like a hyaluronic acid ampoule should be.

Three drops were enough to cover my whole face but I decided to apply more than that since it absorbed so well to my skin. I applied around half of the total amount of the capsule. It felt a little sticky after applying but it absorbed well. I skipped all skin care up until the lotion, since this feels so rich and comfortable on my face.

What I mean is the skin feels really hydrated but it needs moisturizing afterwards, so that’s exactly what I did.

After a few hours, as I lived my daily life, I started peeling and it was not my skin, it was the (now dry) capsule essence. It peels off like those peeling gels (but without dragging your dead skin with it). And I’m sure it was just the capsule and not my dead skin because the palms of my hands “peeled” after applying the capsule and I dismissed it as dryness at the time. However it has never happened that my hands and facial skin were dry at the same time, so it had to be the product.

The overall feeling of the mask was really good and really pleasant, and my skin felt incredibly nice. However I will not repurchase since walking around like that was so embarrassing! The mask is good but not so good that it compensates that.

  1. I think that peeling might be due to willow bark extract and salicylic acid. Did the peeling continued in the next day too? How was your skin next day?

  2. It might be ㅠㅠ After I did my night skin care it continued a little but only if I scrubbed my skin (so nothing that would be visible if I didn’t touch my face) and after the next morning skin care it was all gone.
If they had warned about peeling I wouldn’t have been surprised and would act accordingly but they didn’t say anything about it so I worry it might have been a personal reaction to it

  3. Thanks for the detailed review! I just saw this at Incheon airport and was wondering if it was good. Pretty hard to find a useful review in English! So thanks a lot!:)
