Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off Review:
Since I claim to be on a skincare journey, I wanted it to be as happy as possible. What other way to make it fun besides to get adventurous and exhaust options right? After all, Korean Beauty has a very wide range and interesting ingredients. From the odd ones (pig collagen and snail goo) to hanbang (traditional medicine like ginseng) there’s just way too much variety it is impossible to run out of things to try on! One of the key ingredients that I have been interested on for a while is rice. “Rice, what?!” I don’t know about you but I live on this side of the earth where rice is just something that you put in your mouth whenever you are hungry. Apparently, rice is not only good for your grumbling tummy but is also good for your unnourished skin. Since I have fallen in love with Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Wash-Off Mask, it wouldn’t make sense if I don’t buy the rice variant right?
Skinfood Rice Wash-Off Mask is a wash-off mask containing rice extract that moisturizes skin and brightens tone. With its texture of ground rice, it leaves skin bright, soft and lustrous.

Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off Review:
Skinfood Rice Wash-Off Mask comes in a pretty sturdy plastic jar. The packaging is straightforward the only down side is that, they have forgotten to throw in a spatula!
As I twist the lid, my nose is filled by a strong scent. I am honestly expecting real rice scent but to my disappointment, this product’s scent is nowhere near my expectation. Sure, I could detect rice scent but in a very artificial way. While this product has strong artificial scent, I am glad that my nose was able to tolerate it.
The mask is white pearl with jelly bits on it. If you look closely, you would see that the consistency of this product is similar to Arroz Caldo or what is known more as congee (the Asian counterpart) . I was so tempted to lick the product and see if it is indeed, cooked rice however I was taught well in my Chemistry Laboratory class to avoid putting things on my mouth in any case unless I am on a baking class. ☺
I know, the product looked all mushy but when you start working it on your face, you would actually feel very fine grains that could serve as a gentle exfoliator! I continuously scrubbed my face for a good 5-8 minutes –I let the mask sit on my face for 15 minutes before I washed it off.
The experience was so good because the texture of this wash off mask is so fine it feels nice as I rub it on my face. I feel that people who complain about how the black sugar wash off mask is too abrasive would find variant perfect!
As I wash my face, I could already feel that my skin texture has improved. It felt baby soft and really smooth! Don’t you wish you could poke on your computer and feel my skin? Because I do! My skin looks bright after using this product but nothing too dramatic and I’m okay with that.
What I love the most is how this product could be a very gentle exfoliator. I love how it made my skin really really soft! After washing this mask off, I also get a normal finish unlike the strawberry mask which gives off a little oily finish. If I am going to choose between Black Sugar Strawberry and Rice –I would pick the Rice jar without batting off my lashes. Although, I wouldn’t lie that I love the other’s scent better.
I recommend this product to any skin type; I feel that even one’s with sensitive skin would like this too. I do suggest stay away though, if you happen to have open wounds or active acne because I feel that it might cause irritation.
