Saturday Skin All AGlow Sunscreen Perfecting Cushion Compact SPF 50+ PA+++ | Light Beige #21 Review:

Saturday Skin is a brand with a small range of products, but still relatively well known. They basically have one line that should work for most skin types. It’s also a brand that will make you fall in love with pink. I don’t particularly care about pink, but for some reason pink skin care makes me feel so pretty!

But other than that, this cushion is also beautiful. It’s more colorful than most of their products, but is still a part of that same line. It was released in the end of February this year and I’ve been eyeing it ever since. Now that I got my hands on one, was it worth the wait?

Saturday Skin All AGlow Sunscreen Perfecting Cushion Compact SPF 50+ PA+++ | Light Beige #21 Review:

Before I start the review let me tell you choosing a tone in this cushion might be complicated. The Korean version of the store only has two tones (21 and 23 if I’m not mistaken) and the English version of it has 4 tones!

Four whole tones, which is amazing because it fits more people, but how can you decide the color? From what I can discern the Korean 21 number is equivalent to Light Beige, and the Korean number 23 is equivalent to Beige (aka natural beige). And then there’s one tone lighter (equivalent to a Korean 13) and one tone darker. I hope this helps a little!

Of course the first thing I did was open the cushion box and honestly I didn’t even check the rest of the box where it came in. Because the thing I wanted to confirm foremost of all was if the cushion was a separate refill (sometimes the box has an empty cushion box and then a refill) or if it was a cushion box with the cushion inside plus a refill.

As you can assume since there was a cushion inside the box, here is the refill! So you can say that I have two products in total

Simple instructions on how to remove the cushion and put the refill in.

This is meant to show you the inside of the product in a clear way, nothing else.

The most exciting moment!

Saturday Skin All AGlow Sunscreen Perfecting Cushion Compact SPF 50+ PA+++ | Light Beige #21

Here it is! You cannot see in this photo because no matter how hard I tried it didn’t appear in the photo. This cushion is not flat, it’s like an actual cushion (you know, a cushion as in a pillow) so it’s curved on top. That has the advantage, for clumsy people like me, because it makes it harder to dirty the box around the cushion.

This is the time to stick my nose inside the package and see how it is. It smells gently of cosmetics, less intense than some cushions I’ve tried, but you can still smell it. Nothing special, nothing bothersome at all either!

This is a coverage test. I applied the cushion lightly twice on top of a very strong lip tint, and this was the end result.

In this photo you can see how the number 21 cushion fits on my skin tone. I applied it on the right side of the photo, on the left side of the photo I had nothing. You can see it’s very similar to my skin tone, which means that the next number (23 Beige) would have been too dark for me.

Here you can see before application, on the left, and after application on the right. I only applied one layer of the cushion and it covered my pores, my (light) freckles, my yellows and my reds. And I feel that it covered indeed really well, yes indeed!

I will tell you, all cushions (without exception) settle on my eyelid since it’s very greasy and very hooded. But other than that, this cushion didn’t settle anywhere, you can see in the last photo that it became a second layer of skin.

I had to reapply it once during the day, after lunch, and that made it perfect for the whole day. Another plus, compared to some cushions, is that it doesn’t settle anywhere weirdly but instead, as time goes by, it simply slowly starts disappearing. It means that we get to avoid awkward moments!

A thing I felt during the day is that my skin looks less oily with this cushion (which is called all glow) than it does with the Nature Republic Natural CC Cushion (which makes your skin look natural). So, I guess we can say that whereas the Nature Republic one aims to let your skin breathe freely while making it prettier than it usually is, this one aims to make it look glowy and natural but without the “natural sebum glow” that surfaces as the day passes.

Of course since I have this cushion plus its refill I won’t get any new one anytime soon, but I will definitely consider buying this when I’m close to finishing it! I have figured that, except for a few exceptions (like the Nature Republic one I mentioned earlier), my skin will only look nice with these slightly more expensive products (like Labiotte and IOPE) so might as well invest on them instead of struggling with a “weird looking skin” the whole day. This one so far is side-by-side my favorite along with the IOPE one!
