While Skinfood has been around for some time and is even locally available for me, I haven’t really had a chance to try out any of their product as their market doesn’t appeal that much to me. I just feel that much of the product cost is due to the cutesy and sturdy packaging but I just had to pick up this tub just because! Came Ber-months last year and it has gotten a little bit cold. My skin got a bit flaky and it feels like I’ve got a lot of dead skin on my face. Not wanting to do extreme like chemical exfoliating, I looked for products that could do the job sans punishing my skin that I ended up getting this baby!
- Effectively remove skin flakes without irritating skin.
- Provide moisture and nutrients.
- Applies smoothly on skin and leaves skin fresh, clean and fragrant.
- Gentle exfoliation with delicious smell of strawberry.

Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off Review:
Let me start off with the scent, I’ve been using this product for months now and I honestly still think “this smells so yummy I want to lick my face” each and every time that I use it. I usually prefer my skincare products to be unscented or have a very faint scent at least but I am not turned off with this one! I honestly find the scent and scrubbing process relaxing — I prefer using this product at night since I have more time to enjoy it.
The product is grainy – combination of sugar and strawberry seeds. Initially, I thought it was way too rough to be used on my face but after some time, it felt really nice and warm on skin. I just add a little water and slowly massage it on my face to solve this issue; after all it doesn’t take long to dissolve sugar, right?
As I wash my face I can already feel how smooth my face is! I love how it can thoroughly cleanse my face sans drying, thanks to sugar, strawberry seed oil and glycerin! This product is very efficient in aiding flaky patches on your face. The price is okay too for a little goes a long way.
Overall, I really love this product! As you can see, I am almost done with my tub. It has been a part of my skincare routine. This wash off mask is so gentle I could even use it every day. I am also guilty of using this for longer than the recommended time but it didn’t cause any irritation, at all! I reckon this is a product that would suit all skin type. If your skin is really sensitive, you can always let the sugar melt a bit before working it on your face. I will definitely repurchase!
