[Review] Son Reve Daily Sun Protection SPF 43 PA+++

Son Reve Daily Sun Protection SPF 43 PA+++ Review:

I was lucky enough to receive a lucky box with this item in it! Well, it’s a relatively new product, it’s from a brand that I absolutely love, and it’s season appropriate! So imagine how happy I was. But it came with a surprise, it wasn’t a “normal” sun cream – I guess that’s why they don’t call it a sun cream at all! If you don’t know this brand you should read this to be introduced to it, and if you know of the brand… well, then you probably already want to read this!

Volume: 60 ml

How to use:

Apply after you finish your basic skin care routine, spreading a sufficient amount of this sun milk on your face and parts that will receive direct sun light. It’s a mild cream that’s light in weight, so don’t over apply. Re-apply every 3 to 4 hours. Always shake the bottle before using.

My Skin Type: Oily T, dry U, sensitive, blemishes easily, and allergic.

The pack has a lot of information, it has all of the information you might want (English ingredients on the front of the tube itself) which is nice. I don’t like having to go around looking for ingredient lists and for “caution” points. Lots of brands have been doing this recently!

There’s a small embossed brand logo on the box lid.

The tube and the cream exit are pretty standard too.  I would say overall the biggest advantage of this design is that it’s small enough to be comfortable to carry on your bag, no matter what bag type you like to use. Another very good advantage is that it’s round, which means it doesn’t go around hurting your back.

It’s very very liquid-y. And very very white! Wow people. I wonder if they did it on purpose or if it just came out like this. It’s not sticky at all, even with re-applications during the day.  It absorbs really well and quickly. It smells of, I remember thinking this the first time I used it,  “flowery” and “airy”. Upon further analysis I believe it’s mainly thanks to the Pine Tree, Sandalwood and Geranium. All things that I love!

Although this cream is completely white, you can see there is no white cast.

I swear it is literally impossible to know how much to apply with liquid creams like this (and like the Isehan sunkiller reviewed here on Cosmeperks). So all you can do is guess. To try to get as close as possible to what seems to be the amount I apply with a cream-type sun protection, I usually apply the 2x of amount shown in the pic for the first application, since I then re-apply a cushion (BB or CC with sun protection) several times during the day.

It looks and feels just like my normal skin, with the exception that on my really oily skin parts it doesn’t become as oily as usual. It looks not particularly matte nor shiny.

It washes off easier than a whitening cream and a normal sun cream, it washes off like when you apply sebum powder directly after your skin care, without makeup.

I definitely recommend this to oily and combination types. My skin didn’t react to the product but skins that react to flower oils will definitely want to stay away from this. While after absorbing my skin feels very velvety and that means the flower oils they used are actually active.

Unfortunately this price for this amount of product is a little out of my price range, at least until I get a job. I recently “lost” my favorite sun cream, as it was discontinued, and it was really similar to this one. So you bet I’ll get more of this as soon as I get a job! But until then I’ll just rely on luck and hope I win another one of these.
