[Review] The Face Shop x Disney Mono Pop Eyes Eye shadow Palette 02 Cute Mike

The Face Shop x Disney Mono Pop Eyes Eye shadow Palette 02 Cute Mike Review:

Disney, Mike, do I really need to introduce them? This is one of those products I bought for the package, and as long as the package is of good quality I will love this product. But since it is a product that I will be using on my eyes, better be a good product because I don’t want to risk any infection or discomfort. If you read my reviews, you have noticed that The Face Shop has good eye shadows and… not so good ones! So let’s see how it goes.

As usual there’s no color information at all, so here it goes, before I even begin the review.

From left to right while facing the palette normally: Nude (Matte), Tangerine (Matte), Peach (Glitter), Champagne (Glitter), Orange (Glitter), Cocoa (Satin/Glitter), Milk Chocolate (Matte), Bittersweet Chocolate (Satin).

And also as usual, the colors are exclusive to the palette, but you can always find similar tones even within The Face Shop itself.

This palette box, as you can see by comparison, is thinner than the one from the Trolls eye shadow from the same brand. Which is more makeup pouch friendly, I guess, although I personally prefer the big sturdy look since I always carry a big bag anyway. Preferences!

The design just gets cuter the more you open the box! Other than the adorable (or cool) Mike outside, there are cute (or sneaky) Mike footprints on my eye shadows!

Of course it’s the eye shadow protector. If I ever threw one of those plastic pieces out it’s definitely because it didn’t have Mike footprints.

It comes, as usual with the sponge brush. This sponge brush is… okay if you don’t have a choice. I personally don’t like it much as it grabs a lot of eye shadow but it transfers none to the skin. And then it’s even more of a pain to clean it! So I always just use a normal brush, I like The Face Shop a lot but if there’s one thing they should change it’s definitely these sponge brushes.

Here you can see the colors on the skin. The shimmer (darkest) color is intense, really good pigments. The other pigments? Not so good. Especially the matte ones. There is one advantage to them though: you can use that orangy-pink as a blusher, and the white-ish one as a base. It is a shame, to me, that the lighter glitters don’t have more pigment though. What we end up seeing (especially when you use it on the eyes) is just gold or silver glitter.

The dark brown color lasts like a sweetheart. I end up using it as an eyeliner or the smoky corner of a smoky makeup. The three after it are pretty normal, boring colors as every neutral palette in Korea has it (yes, here neutral palettes have golds that aren’t always neutral).

The color settling is the same as in the Trolls palette; decent for the most of it but the mattes settle on the wrinkles and folds of the skin. Which reinforces my thoughts of using them not as eye shadows anyway!

I would never have bought this specific palette for the colors (the Trolls palette was totally worth it), but I don’t regret anything since Mike is Mike, and I can use these colors anyway! If I remove the design factor, this palette is only average, but I can’t remove the Mike factor here.
