[REVIEW] Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask Review

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask was purchased by Cosme Perks.

It is my first mask from this luxury brand, Sulwhasoo. Well, who doesn’t know Sulwhasoo? This Korean premium brand is well known for its high performance skincare products using all natural ginseng and herbal ingredients. Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask itself is very popular on some beauty forums in my country (the First Care Activating Serum is also said to be a best-selling product from this brand). Almost all (or maybe all) of the reviewers give this mask a high rating. And I was so lucky to get a chance to test it by myself. Curiously, why a lot of people like this mask, I was so excited to give it a try.

The interesting claim from this Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask is about the JAUM Balancing Complex™, which is designed to improve skin balance. I guess I need to try this formula since I have an oily-combi skin. I have very dry patches on cheek area but my T-zone is very oily. Yes, I need to balance it, right? They also claim the essence of this mask was made by precious Korean herbal ingredients, and we all know that mostly Korean herbal products work very very well. But, is that true? Do not waste our time and let’s find out if I agree with those reviewers who give it a high score, or otherwise?

[REVIEW] Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque

Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque Review

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque Review:

First, let’s get a bit of our knowledge on the history of the brand.
Kiehl’s is one of the most prestagious brand name when it comes to high-end skincare products.
In 1951, there was a store founded to serve patrons in East Village, Manhattan. Until 1894, John Kiehl purchased the store and renamed it Kiehl Pharmacy. In 1921, Irving Morse – apprentice to Kiehl bought the pharmacy. This marks another remarkable developing stage of the brand. During the 70s, Kiehl’s gained great popularity as a luxurious cosmetics brand with safe ingredients and especially, the launch of the renown Calendula Herbal extract Alcohol-free toner. The distinct marketing method of Kiehl’s during this time is based on word-of-mouth and giving free samples to customers. Later, Kiehl’s is purchased by L’oreal Group and now, Kiehl’s has more than 250 stores and showrooms all over the world. Until now, Kiehl’s has gained the reputation for their wide range of products: haircare, skincare, fragrance, bodycare and men’s grooming. All of the products from Kiehl’s are well-known for their natural-based and safe ingredients offered via sophisticated formulations.

To celebrate my bachelor graduation, I decided to get something a bit fancy and Kiehl’s masks came first in my mind. Moreover, the Spring weather in Vietnam is getting so hot and humid. Everyday in the period from early January to March, the temperature would rocket from 28oC to as high as 34-35oC at noon and then “calm down” back to 27-28oC in the evening. Usually, my skin would lose immense amount of hydration and produce a lot of sebum if left unattended.

Combining all of the conditions, I would opt for something that offers refreshing sensation, helps control my sebum production and clears up my congested pores. Up till this point, you may know what I was about to get: yes, you can tell by the title already haha. It’s the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. My summary review for this product is: I love it x 10 times.

[REVIEW] Duft & Doft beVERYclear Peeling Gel

Duft & Doft beVERYclear Peeling Gel Review

Duft & Doft beVERYclear Peeling Gel Review:

My favorite part of skincare is exfoliating. It’s fun but also very important. Exfoliating takes away a lot of things that shouldn’t be on the skin. In my opinion, it is a vital part on everyone’s routine. I remember reading an interview of the group kard on allure (yeah I know, it doesn’t really add up), and the members said the one step they can’t go without is exfoliating. If I can trust someone’s advice, that’s people with flawless skin.

I’ve been wanting to try this type of peel for years since it is less harsh on the skin than normal (not chemical) peels and it’s veeery satisfying to see more and more gunk coming out of the skin. I was in between this one and the secret key lemon peel but I decided on this one since it contains AHA, an ingredient that’s very famous for working well against acne.

[REVIEW] NEW Innisfree My Lip Balm Visual Shock Peppermint Tea Wanna One Edition

Innisfree My Lip Balm Visual Shock Peppermint Tea Wanna One Edition Review

Innisfree My Lip Balm Visual Shock Peppermint Tea Wanna One Edition was purchased by Cosme Perks.

Innisfree My Lip Balm is a new lip balm that just released in January 2018. But why did it become a trending stuff among Kpop fans? Because it’s available in Wanna One edition! You know, this boy band is sooo famous since they’re debuted through the 2017 series Produce 101 Season 2. Hence this limited edition lip balm from Innisfree became a hot product and seemed to be the most wanted product, especially if you are a Wanna One fan. If you remember, Innisfree was very successful in their first collaboration with this group for their Jeju Volcanic Color Clay Mask, and I guess they wanted to repeat this success for My Lip Balm. And yes, they did it again. Honestly I am not a fan of Wanna One (I don’t even know the members or their songs, hehe). But it’s quite a while since my last lip balm from Innisfree, so I was interested to try out this new one.

There are 11 different colors and scents from this lip balm, it matches with Wanna One that also has 11 members (did Innisfree make it in 11 variants because they wanted to match it with Wanna One members? hehe). So, each member represents one kind of color and scent. And I got mine in Kim Jae Hwan’s face and the shade was named Visual Shock Peppermint Tea (quite long, huh?). Well, let’s stop talking too much and meet this good looking lip balm!

[REVIEW] Farm Stay Tomato Moisture Soothing Gel

Farm Stay Tomato Moisture Soothing Gel Review

Farm Stay Tomato Moisture Soothing Gel Review:

The recent increase in hype with soothing gels in the beauty market nudged me to get one and try it myself. I have been using soothing gels since the end of last year but I always stick with aloe vera soothing gels. In this year, I am feeling quite adventurous so I thought that maybe I should try another variant of soothing gel instead. I searched for it on the internet and the results showed a lot of Korean brands that produce different kinds of soothing gel but what snatched my attention the most is the Farm Stay Tomato Moisture Soothing Gel.

So Farm Stay is a Korean skincare and cosmetic brand which uses natural ingredients on their products. There are three kinds of soothing gels that Farmstay offers – aloe vera, snail and tomato gel. I decided to get the tomato soothing gel because its claims look so promising to me. But does it really do what it says? We’ll see about that!

[REVIEW] CLIO Kill Cover Highest Wear Foundation SPF50+ PA+++ 03 Linen

CLIO Kill Cover Highest Wear Foundation 03 Linen Review

CLIO Kill Cover Highest Wear Foundation 03 Linen Review:

CLIO is one of the more expensive Korean beauty brands out there. The prices in Korea is a little bit up there, it’s not as expensive as IOPE but it’s not as affordable as Etude House either. From what I read before, CLIO was established by a professional makeup artist and to these days their products are often used both by makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts.

I rarely buy CLIO products because of their prices in my country is really expensive but I heard their foundations are really worth the price. They have tons of liquid and cushion foundations and it confuses me which one should I get. They have different foundations for different skin types and since I have combination – oily skin, I decided to get the liquid one since cushion foundations are more moisturizing and works for dry skin better.

Their best selling foundation is Kill Cover line so I got myself the Kill Cover Highest Wear Foundation. They didn’t say if it’s work for oily skin but since they said it’s long lasting, I think it would be good for my skin type.

[REVIEW] Etude House Precious Mineral Beautifying Block Cream Moist SPF50+ PA+++ Vanilla

Etude House Precious Mineral Beautifying Block Cream Moist SPF50+PA+++ Vanilla Review

Etude House Precious Mineral Beautifying Block Cream Moist SPF50+ PA+++ Vanilla Review:

When Etude House came out with a new range of BB creams in different shades than their usual ones, I just knew that I had try to them. Especially when I saw that they had ones with a pink base rather than just the usual yellow one. The previous BB creams from Etude House worked out well for me, only the undertone and shade didn’t match, but they lasted well on my skin. So, I finally thought that I would find the perfect BB cream when Etude House launched these.

This line of BB creams comes in 5 different shades which have some pink based, yellow based and even neutral based colors, so that they should work better for more people’s skin tones, hopefully.

[REVIEW] Mise en Scene Perfect Repair Hair Serum

Mise en Scene Perfect Repair Hair Serum Review

Mise en Scene Perfect Repair Hair Serum Review:

For someone who’s pretty low maintenance in terms of haircare, I recall first getting this serum in hopes of taming my frizzy hair. With the heat and humidity in this country, I knew I was asking for somewhat of a miracle. In the past, I have tried a couple of serums – too heavy or made my hair oily – and even tried some kind of cream treatment for damaged hair, which made my hair super greasy. So you can kind of tell why I was hopeful, but also not when I first laid my eyes on this popular hair serum. But hey, it was worth a shot, right?

Laneige Water Bank Mineral Skin Mist Review:

Winter is not over yet and any moisture booster is gratefully welcome to save the dehydrated skin. Multiple skin care protection has been applied but the attack from room heater is unavoidably suck the good moisture from skin… And this is where the skin mist comes to the rescue! Yeah, I personally think the skin mist is an emergency aid anytime my skin feels tired or dry.

This product, Laneige Water Bank Mineral Skin Mist, was received as a gift from the store so it is smaller than the available size in market, only 30mL. The original price is KRW 15,000 for 60mL bottle and 24,000 for 120mL. It is said as a refreshing mist that gives tired skin a much needed boost. The Laneige Water Bank product itself has gained a really good reputation and became one of the best seller line of the renowned brand Laneige. Here is my review after using it for 2 months.
