[REVIEW] Innisfree Derma Formula Micellar Cleansing Water Fresh

Innisfree Derma Formula Micellar Cleansing Water Fresh Review

Innisfree Derma Formula Micellar Cleansing Water Fresh Review:

I have had the habit of double cleansing since years back, after I switched from a make-up removal cleanser to using micellar cleansing water. I started using micellar cleansing water because I like how gentle it is to the skin. However, it does not seem to address my other skincare needs for oily skin which is why I have a separate cleanser for this.
I was only aware of a particular brand of micellar water all these while and had been using it faithfully. It was only in the recent couple of years or so when I start to learn more keenly about Korean skincare that I realised their skincare regime recommends double cleansing.

So Koreans probably make pretty good micellar water, won’t they? And when I subsequently came across a Youtuber comparing the brand of micellar cleansing water I use against a Korean brand, with the latter containing less chemical ingredients, I made a mental note that I should try out one.

And came this day when I was browsing the shelves in Innisfree when I saw this micellar cleansing water that says “with hyaluronic acid” and “for oily & combination skin”. So although this is not the one that I saw recommended in the Youtube video I mentioned, I decided it may be worth a try based on its label. This derma line was released by Innisfree some time around the 4th quarter of 2017. It has another variant “Moist” that is meant for dry skin.

[REVIEW] Etude House Precious Mineral Compact Vanilla

Etude House Precious Mineral Compact Vanilla Review

Etude House Precious Mineral Compact Vanilla Review:

When Etude House released this new powder compact, I was hopeful that it would be like the previous Precious Mineral compact which I could use instead of bb cream on lazy days. The old one was almost too dark for me, so when I saw this one came in more shades than the previous ones I was really happy and hopeful about this compact.

I truthfully didn’t do much research about this compact, instead looking at the 5 different shades and hoping that it would be better than the previous one. I wasn’t sure which color to get because the Etude House website swatches all look quite similar so it is a bit deceiving. I went with the lightest color because almost every powder I’ve tried has been way too pigmented or the undertone is completely wrong for me.

[REVIEW] New 2018 Missha Bee Pollen Renew Sheet Mask

Missha Bee Pollen Renew Sheet Mask Review

Missha Bee Pollen Renew Sheet Mask was purchased by Cosmeperks.

I literally got my hands on this mask the day I heard about it, and used it the next day. My skin loves honey and related stuff, and I feel that Missha is a very appropriate brand for my skin in general, as it focuses on things that my skin really needs (what I mean is, generally it’s for not teenage skin). I was really excited, and trying this mask made me happy. Also, spoiler alert, now I want to try everything else from the collection.

[REVIEW+SWATCHES] New 2018 Peripera Ink Blurring Skin Tint 01 Ivory Cover

Peripera Ink Blurring Skin Tint 01 Ivory Cover Review

Peripera Ink Blurring Skin Tint 01 Ivory Cover Review:

Everyone must’ve heard or tried the most well-known product from Peripera, their Peri’s Ink Tint. I do have some of their collections and so far I have positive experience so I’m really excited when they announced they will release a new product in their Ink family, the Ink blurring Skin Tint.

I’m not sure if it’s a foundation, BB Cream, or a CC cream since they don’t tell us the detail (but I think it’s more similar to foundation though) but they claims it’s a ‘tint’ for skin to achieve light, natural makeup look. I never tried any face product from Peripera before so I have high expectation from this product.

As usual for a Korean makeup, they only have 3 shades and all shades suit fair to light skin tone only. They also have 1 special shade to tone up skin tone. It’s upsetting to see a brand as famous as Peripera doesn’t consider medium to deeper complexion but as their main target market is Korean, I think I understand why they only make 3 shades.

[REVIEW] It’s Skin Power 10 Formula LI Effector with Licorice

It’s Skin Power 10 Formula LI Effector Review

It’s Skin Power 10 Formula LI Effector Review:

Once I heard about these essences I was curious about them, especially since there are so many varieties and different types. I spent a lot of time researching different ones deciding which one to try. Of course, in the end I decided to pick the LI effector – which contains liquorice. Why liquorice? Well because it’s meant to be good at reducing redness which sounds perfect to me. After all I’m sick of looking like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer or like a tomato all year round.

The LI effector also had the best reviews, it seemed like it helped a lot of people’s redness. So, I was hopeful that maybe it would work for me. Despite the triethanolamine, I thought it also has a pretty good ingredient list with a good percentage of liquorice too.

[REVIEW+ALL SWATCHES] New 2018 Etude House Matte Chic Lip Lacquer BR401 Wendy Brown

Etude House Matte Chic Lip Lacquer BR401 Wendy Brown Review

Etude House Matte Chic Lip Lacquer BR401 Wendy Brown Review:

We’ve all seen them, and we have all lust for these lip lacquers. Not only girls, the guys also want their girlfriends to wear these lipsticks since Red Velvet (in particular Irene) are the ideal type at the moment. Much like two years ago it was Hani, and before that it was Suzy, and before that Yoona.

Anyway, Etude of course grabbed the most popular girl and her group (remember when they had Krystal?) and advertised a product that is so good that honestly doesn’t need advertising since it sells itself. But with a good product and good advertising this has us all going crazy for these lipsticks!

[REVIEW] New 2018 Aritaum Seaweed Dust Cut Moisturizing Mask

Aritaum Seaweed Dust Cut Moisturizing Mask Review

Aritaum Seaweed Dust Cut Moisturizing Mask was purchased by Cosmeperks.

The pollution in Korea is crazy. To the point I got asthma and skin allergies because of it! If you check the news, the pollution level here is God-knows-how-many-times worse than European levels. With such conditions it’s not unusual that lots of Korean brands have whole lines dedicated to fixing the problems pollution gives to our skins.

This line consists of 4 masks, and I chose my first one to be the Moisturizing one (in Korean they call it hydrating, not moisturizing, which is why I chose it). Because my skin needs hydration and moisture (which this blue mask promises), elasticity (which the whole line promises) and anti-pollution care (literally the whole point of this line). I have high expectations for this baby.

[REVIEW] Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil

Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil Review

Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil Review:

Curious about other cleansing oils, when a friend brought this up last year, I was surprised, considering Simple isn’t an Asian brand. But looking at the relatively clean and minimal ingredients list, it left me very intrigued. So when I caught it on sale at a local pharmacy/drugstore, I gave in almost immediately. Read on to see how a British cleansing oil fares in terms of makeup removal!

[REVIEW+SWATCHES] New 2018 Etude House Matte Chic Lip Lacquer OR202 Too Much Orange

Etude House Matte Chic Lip Lacquer OR202 Too Much Orange Review

Etude House Matte Chic Lip Lacquer OR202 Too Much Orange Review:

Recently Etude House appointed a famous Korean girl group Red Velvet as their new brand face (or a brand ambassador), replacing Krystal from f(x) and I think it’s a good choice since Red velvet is really popular both nationally and internationally.

They also released a new product called the Matte Chic Lip Lacquer and honestly I think the concept of this collection is perfect for Red Velvet as it’s chic and has a little bit of retro vibe. They did have matte lip liquid in the past but if I remember correctly, they didn’t get positive feedback and the collection was discontinued.

Etude House makes the lip lacquer in 12 shades with most of them are reds but there is neutrals, pinks, and oranges shade as well. There are 5 special shades and called as “Red Velvet’s shades” with each member names as its names as well. They sell it in a special box containing those 5 shades and photocards as a bonus for purchasing.
