3CE Take A Layer Tinted Water Tint Fig Pink Review:
Are you interested for a new lip product this summer? Yasss, I was extremely excited when I saw 3CE’s new makeup collection, 3CE Take A Layer! This makeup line was released for 3CE summer collection on May 2018. And it brings 3 makeup products; Take A Layer Multi Pot (for lips, cheeks and eyes), Tinted Water Tint and Layering Nail Lacquer.
Aside from their summery colorful shades that look, of course, so chic and adorable, I was also teased by the packaging which I think is unusual. They chose photo design packaging for this Take A Layer makeup collection. At first, I thought the packaging was very odd but I found it was also interesting and unique at the same time.
Well, I am going to review one of their lip product here, the 3CE Take A Layer Tinted Water Tint in shade #Fig Pink. As a fan of lip tint and 3CE as well, I expected a lot of good things from this lip tint since the commercial photos look promising.
+ A pure and girly pinkish hue as sweet as a bite of a fig.
+ 3CE tinted water has a liquid formula that instantly delivers a stain of beautiful and vibrant color with a light finish in a single sweep.
+ The highly saturated lip tint delivers true color payoff that clearly sits on your lips lasting all day.

3CE Take A Layer Tinted Water Tint Fig Pink Review:
We may have different opinion about the packaging. Some of us may think it is quite weird but the others may say it is adorable. Even up till now, I think this photo design packaging is slightly weird but why do I want this as my collection? Ha!
3CE really did something out of their box for this Take A Layer collection, especially for the packaging. I don’t know how they decided to make this photo design point but however this is truly unique and artistic. It is very different from their usual design but this concept still in 3CE style and it’s a perfect design for chic summer vibes.
The bottle of this lip tint is actually a clear plastic tube and they placed a sticker on it. But who does even care about that? However the point of the packaging is putting Park Sora’s face (one of the Stylenanda’a lovely model, my most favorite one haha) on the product containers. Each shade has different Sora’s photo (her full face, lips or eyes). And as always, she looks adorable on all photos. I think this point makes whole package look unusual yet eye-catching. Moreover they completed the packaging with gold lid and it successfully makes the bottle look classy and luxurious.
Ah, I almost forgot to say, this Tinted Water Tint comes in a beige outer box. And like the other 3CE box I got, it doesn’t bring a lot of information about the product itself, just some words in Hangul. As usual, the hologram sticker of 3CE and the lid seal are placed neatly to indicate the authenticity of the product.
Once opened up the lid, we would find a rubber packing on top of the tube to prevent the product from leaking, so it is more safe as this tint has a watery texture. The applicator is also nice. It is doe-foot applicator with a soft and flat brush. I usually like slanted brush but surprisingly this flat brush is comfortable as well. When hold the brush horizontally, it will be very easy to apply on large area. And hold it vertically to apply on lip corners and lip line to get a precise result.
This lip tint has a watery texture with soft vanilla scent. It is truly like water and so liquidy. If you love non-heavy lip products, then it will take a special place in your heart. It is sooo lightweight. There is no clumpy nor sticky result. It is just like pouring water on your lips. And due to its texture, this product absorbs quickly. So quick. Hence, creating gradient look is a bit hard as you have to blend the product out immediately before it dries up.
Oh, I also want you to be careful with this tint, I mean the tube of this lip tint. Just make sure to close the lid tightly, especially if you want to put it in your pouch since its watery type consistency leaks easily even though the tube has a rubber packing. I spilled out my tint when I accidentally nudged the tube while capturing its applicator. Tragic.
3CE Take A Layer Tinted Water Tint has 5 pretty shades and #Fig Pink is the only one pink color in this collection. It is vibrant pink with hint of orange. When firstly applied the tint, I was surprised as the orange color was more dominant than the pink itself and it’s so different from swatches on website. I was like… is this shade fail? Then I let it absorbed and yes, after completely set, it turned more pinkish. On my pigmented lips, the pink looks a bit darker but it still has a slight of orange hue. Meanwhile, its leftover stain is pure pink.
This Tinted Water Tint has natural and weightless finish, like you do not apply anything on your lips. It doesn’t accentuate nor cover my wrinkly lips. It is just like layering my lips with water on top. But do not underestimate its coverage and color payoff because, in fact, it has a strong pigmentation thus one layer is enough to cover my natural lips color nicely.
I was very impressed with the staying power. Like it won’t go anywhere once set on my lips! I didn’t count how much hours it stayed on my lips, but it was from day to night and I just reapplied once on the inner part of my lips as I ate my oily lunch like having a mukbang contest, LOL. And even though added another layer, I didn’t feel heavy at all.
This tint will be transferproof once absorbed and set completely and I guess it makes the tint last longer. Moreover, the stain is quite vivid too, so even it wears off it still gives pretty look on lips. But try to not lick it as it has a bitter taste.
However, this lovely lip tint has down side too. It just works like many other lip tint that tend to be a little bit dry on lips. It is still acceptable on my normal lips (furthermore, I am indeed a fan of lip tint, so I am familiar with the dry results). But I am not sure if anyone would love it, especially if you have dry lips. I recommend to always prepare your lip balm while using this lip tint.
Overall, I am satisfied with 3CE Take A Layer Tinted Water Tint, especially its texture and staying power and also the packaging, awesome! Aside from the shade that looks different from its official swatches and its zero moisturizing formula, I would really love to try other shades of this lip tint (maybe all of them, hehe). And I already added their Take A Layer Multi Pot in my wishlist as well. I think this collection is worth it to try, especially if you want a long-lasting lip product in the summer.
