A’Pieu Madecassoside Ampoule Review:
It starts with the name. It’s as simple as it is. We like cool and creative names but, let’s face it, it’s more practical to call a product by what it is! For example, you wouldn’t say “Benton Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack” all the time, you would just say “Benton Centella Mask” or something.
With this name there is no going wrong. I also like the design, which matches the collection completely. And the simple promise of skin protection. But does the A’Pieu Madecassoside Ampoule perform as well as it sells?
+ It promises to protect angry and damaged skin using madecassoside and centella as the star ingredients. All ingredients have a nice place on their EWG certification and the brand says this was dermatologically tested.
+ Also got a 96% rating on Hwahae for being mild and gentle on the skin, Glowpick new product of the month recognition and Yellow Pick basic skin care Beauty Bucket item for new products.
+ This ampoule claims that for proper soothing 99.99% of centella asiatica to 0.01% of madecassoside ratio is necessary (similar to what you would find in the actual centella asiatica plant). So this ampoule has… exactly that.
Centella asiatica 99.99%, madecassoside 0.01%
Lots of products mention only one or two ingredients leading us to believe that is the full ingredient list, but usually it is not.
They distinguish between “important ingredients” and “all ingredients”, and usually it escapes the buyer’s eye. But this one really has only 2 ingredients. I checked. It says “all ingredients”!
This also gives it a shorter using time after opening, 9 months, which is “very small” for A’pieu.
How to use:
Use at any step of your routine you see fit. Use as a facial pack if needed, by applying on cotton pads.
My Skin Type: Combination (dry U oily T), sensitive, needs elasticity, hydration and nutrients.
Dehydrated, sensitive, allergic and very pigmented lips. (yes, I apply this one all the way to the lip border because of the allergies, and with those ingredients I’m not even worried if it goes to the actual lip area)
A’Pieu Madecassoside Ampoule Review:
Let me ruin the party and say already how much I love this product! I do love it. So all the things I will say next that make it seem “just okay” are purely informative because I can’t see my life without this ampoule anymore. More information to follow.
The design is simple, and adorable. It looks like a medical pouch, and this ampoule has been just that to me whenever any skin allergy or irritation appears anywhere on my body.
I cleanse “the problem”, apply my allergy medicine, or soothing ampoule or whatever, and when they absorb I apply this one on top.
It is completely transparent, spreads easily, absorbs fast. Sort of like thick water.
It is indeed super gentle on the skin, and right away you can feel a mixture of moisture and hydration settling on the skin.
It is also completely scentless! Love.
It doesn’t feel particularly light nor fresh, nor heavy or anything. It’s an… non existing feeling for the most part.
I say for the most part because there is an amazing thing that comes with this ampoule.
It does not soothe. I’m sorry if you expected that. But it brings something better than soothing. As soon as I apply it I feel an invisible protection barrier settling on my skin. I see a clear difference on my skin condition on the days I use the ampoule and the days I don’t – so much I don’t even leave the house anymore without using it.
It moisturizes and hydrates a little, so that I can skip any ampoule focusing on that (I can use stuff focuses on anti-aging, for example), and I don’t need to use a particularly protective cream or sun cream – and that is amazing especially for the hotter seasons since I can apply the minimum skin products and still be protected from outside aggressions.
I’ll put it short: this ampoule does nothing but protect, moisturize, and give a sense of comfort.
And that is a great thing! It doesn’t harm in any way, you can simplify your routine while being protected, etc. It doesn’t give amazing soothing – it’s more of soothing by protecting the already existent damage. And it doesn’t really heal, but it protects. It’s like… applying Vaseline on chapped lips. It protects, it makes you comfortable: it allows your body to fix itself and that’s way better than applying a million products on your wounds.
I love it and recommend it to everyone. Sensitive skin or not, if you live in a city (literally any city) you should probably use this ampoule.
