[REVIEW] A’pieu Madecassoside Gauze Mask Sheet

A’pieu Madecassoside Gauze Mask Sheet was purchased by Cosmeperks.

A’pieu has been on a roll releasing new products every month – and I don’t mean one or two products, but full collections! The collection they have been keeping more updated (and according to rumors better than other brands’ equivalent collections) is their Madecassoside one. The collection’s full of interesting products (including a hand repairing hand cream) that promise to care for the skin, but until then we can take a peek into what to expect by trying this mask! I genuinely believe that you can see the overall of a collection by trying the collection’s mask because a mask is like a concentrate of all the main ingredients of the collection.

So of course when CosmePerks mentioned this mask I jumped right to it!

Design wise it just looks like everything else from the collection so to be honest I don’t really care about it much. I mean, things can match but be slightly different? Not in this case, so, eh.

The pouch opened quite easily, and separated easily too so that removing the mask was no problem at all.

You can see the mask as it is when I pulled it out. Now, at this point I was thinking “seriously, another one of those?” – because I’ve used gauze masks before (from other brands) and they just had this plastic net on the outside, shaping the mask or something.

You’re supposed to peel off this before putting the mask on, but I thought this was better for the photo.

Here is the first part that made me smile. It is an actual gauze mask! Like the ones in the doctors!

This specific gauze is made of three layers: eucalyptus tencel, cotton, eucalyptus tencel according to the brand.

Because I’m clumsy the mask was a little lower than supposed to (see the eyes) but I fixed it afterwards, since I just had to slide it up a little. Also, I folded the mask like such, on my cheek, because this mask has that amazing ability that it fits bigger faces by adjusting that (or more like, it adheres so well that it fits smaller faces by folding like that).

The mask sticks really well to the skin, but because it sticks so well making it fit to the skin (by folding) is a tiny bit troublesome. The mask is basically quite big. Usually my nose is showing in the bottom – but even after sliding the mask up my nose was completely covered. And the mask still folded a little under my chin (which is nice because it is also a sensitive part of my skin.

Because as soon as I applied the mask I felt it relax my angry skin, I decided to also do a lip mask with the essence. The trick is to put a lot of essence and not push the mask in the center part of the lips, simply press it down around them. So that it’s not uncomfortable!

To be honest, in the arm test the essence felt watery and sticky. The scent is soft and sweet but I would rather it having no added fragrance.

All the while I had the mask on, I felt very relaxed and comfortable.

I used this mask after being exposed to the sun without sun cream (it was an emergency that made me step outside) and look at that disgrace! But the mask results speak for themselves.

Now, this isn’t really a healing mask in the sense of “healing pimples and blemishes” like, for example, The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur mask. It’s a mask that focuses on the barrier of the skin – but you can still see how well it moisturized and hydrated my skin.

I wouldn’t use it to repair blemishes, but it’s an amazing daily mask and I wish I had used it before going out in the sun! However, even though it doesn’t focus on repairing, since it focuses on tired and damaged skin, on dry skin, etc it is also a good mask for repairing if there is nothing else.

The comfort of this mask (used it at around 7pm) lasted me until the next morning, that was particularly obvious on my lips that usually dry a lot during the night. And the moisture isn’t an oil producing machine, so that even though they advise this for dry skins I say any skin can use it, even oily skins (just apply a soothing gel instead of a cream or other moisturizer).

As I said, I won’t use it for repairing specifically (not if I have masks that specialize in that) but I would love to use this mask every morning (maybe vary a little, but you know what I mean hehe).
