[REVIEW] A’pieu Wonder Tension Pact Madecassoside SPF30 PA++ | Shade 23

A’pieu Wonder Tension Pact Madecassoside SPF30 PA++ | Shade 23 Review:

A’pieu is a Korean cosmetic brand that is affordable but has amazing products. I follow a few Korean youtubers and a while back they all seemed to rave about the wonder tension pact from A’pieu, but I never had the urge to try it because I still had some cushions I was testing out.

I’ve gone through multiple tubes of A’pieu’s moisture concealer so when I visited Seoul I decided to test out quite a collection of their products ranging from makeup to skincare and see if I can find more gems. This review will be dedicated to their Wonder Tension Pact Madecassoside. Centella extract has been all the rage in Korean skincare, it’s almost like when snail extract first became popular- every brand has a range.

The product is a mesh cushion foundation that promises to calm and cover acne prone skin. It is whitening, UV protecting and anti-wrinkle.

A’pieu Wonder Tension Pact Madecassoside SPF30 PA++ | Shade 23 Review:

While A’pieu calls it Wonder Tension Pact, let’s call a spade a spade and call it a cushion. It has a net instead of a cushion, but other than that it’s just like all the other cushion foundations out there in the market.

I bought it in the color #23 and it’s a little too neutral-leaning for my taste. We all know about the almost non-existent shade selection in most Korean road shop brands. I suppose the neutral-pink tone is to add some brightness back into your skin but as someone who has acne and redness it’s not the most flattering, especially with how much product it dispenses per time.

The product itself is a very thick cream underneath a mesh. Think cheesecloth or tights. It gives a dewy finish on my skin, but keep in mind the finish of your foundation depends on the finish of your skincare/sunscreen.

The coverage is medium to high, covering my less severe acne scars. The rest will still depend on a high coverage concealer to cover it up.

The sponge provided picks up way too much product, so be sure to use a light hand or something else with it to avoid a caked up face.

I have to give A’pieu props for the packaging. The case is a square with metallic mint green wrapped around the sides. What surprised me the most is that it has a magnetic closure instead of the usual button closure! It adds a touch of luxury for such an affordable cushion. Although the overall feel of the case is not the best. It still feels plastic-y but with the price we can’t ask it to come in a Chanel bag, now can we?

On to the main ingredient: madecassoside is derived from Centella Asiatica, a plant used in Asia for a long time as medicine. Madecassoside is the active compound that has strong anti-inflammatory properties, stimulates collagen production and moisture regulation. It also promotes wound healing. Houttuynia cordata is known for its purifying effects in traditional Chinese medicine. Green tea extract is an antioxidant, which will help you look better. Aloe vera will hydrate your skin and heal it as well.

I’ve been using this cushion for 2 weeks now and so far I see a difference in my skin, BUT I have also switched to new skincare products so it might due to the switch and not the product itself.

The ingredients- main ingredients anyways- are all good for the skin, and hopefully A’pieu made a stable formula that when exposed to air multiple times the ingredients will still be active.

I wouldn’t use this solely as my sun protection either, I will always recommend wearing a sunscreen as your last step in your skincare routine.

This product is good for all skin types, but not all skin colors. Like most Korean products, the shade range is very limited. When I was swatching the shades in store there wasn’t much of a difference between the 2 shades. #21 is on the pink side while #23 is on the neutral beige side.

If I wanted to, I can probably use #21 as well. Like I said, the product is on the neutral/pink side so if you have a strong yellow tone then it might not be for you. So, if you’re darker than NC30 I would look elsewhere. I’ve been wearing a light layer on the center of my face as a very natural highlight. Or, when it’s time for turtlenecks again, I’ll wear it all over my face since my neck will be covered.

  1. Hi, have you tried flash photography while wearing this cushion? I’m thinking if it would be alright to wear this for an event. Thanks!

  2. Hello, my skin is very oily and acne prone but sensitive and allergenic to strong fragrance. Is this cushion suit for me?
    Doesn’t it clog the pores and causen’t comedones or blackheads?
    I use missha pore fection bb cream, this bb cream clog my skin pores and cause acne and blackhead.
    Please recommend me a affordable and lightweight and non comedogenic cushion suit for me.
