[REVIEW] Aritaum Fresh Power Essence Pouch Pack Bamboo Charcoal | Peeling Gel

Aritaum Fresh Power Essence Pouch Pack Bamboo Charcoal | Peeling Gel Review:

I generally love Aritaum (as a brand) since they do have a decent standard products for inexpensive prices. So after trying the Aritaum Fresh Power Essence Pouch Collagen sleeping mask last time, I grabbed the Peeling mask from the same collection that focused on flakey skin.

Now, I don’t currently have flakey skin, but that’s because I do light exfoliation once a week. Still, if this is a gel-type of peeling mask it counts and gentle if I do it right, and it can be a really practical product to take on vacation. I mean, you buy in in “sample size” for “sample price” and in a pouch that lets you use it more than one time. Practical. So I got this one and decided to try it too!

Claims:

– Peeling gel mask that helps rid of flakey skin.

– Helps extract the toxins and draw out the dirt and oil – characteristic of pure and clean charcoal like bamboo.

– The pieces of bamboo extract in this product are extracted from the plant.

– It contains 3,000µg of bamboo charcoal extracts.

– Mild peeling gel with a special cleansing function.

– The masks in this collection are recommended to be used 2 to 3 times for better effect, and for that the lid was installed.

Ingredients:

Purified Water, Cellulose, Butylene Glycol, Polyoxyethylene Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Betaine, Allantoin, Urea, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Ethylhexyl Glycerin, Charcoal Powder, Perfume, Phenoxyethanol

Volume: 10ml (enough for 2 to 3 times)

How to use:

1. Clean the face with warm water and dry it.

2. Open the pouch and squeeze out enough product.

3. Apply it to the skin and massage gently to remove the dead skin cells. Wash off with warm water.

My Skin Type: Oily T, dry U, sensitive, blemishes easily, and allergic.

Well, design wise there isn’t much to say. Like the previous product I have tried from the collection, it’s not a particularly amazing design. But the point is, as they say, the lid that you can use to store it back and use a total of 2 to 3 times. Of course you’re not meant to let it wait months between usages, even if you don’t use it every day you should probably finish it within a week or so.

Plus points for that idea!

The first time I used it was on my wrist to know how aggressive it is. As promised, it’s mild, didn’t irritate even that sensitive skin there. It gathers up in nice rubbery lumps (and no, that’s not dead skin, that’s the way the product gathers so it can gently tug your dead skin out without harming it – you can look into it but basically it’s like when you were young and played with liquid glue until it made “boogers” – nonetheless it’s a nice technology that is generally effective).

The gel feels like gentle and fine sand that doesn’t scratch your skin. The scent is (to me) nice, and it definitely doesn’t smell of charcoal so don’t worry. It looks weird simply because it’s grey with greyer spots!

The first time I used it, I was amazed. Yes my skin is a little dry, I mean in a short time I did wet it two times and peel it, but even my normal skin care fixed that detail. The skin is smooth and soft like a baby’s butt. And you can see that after cleansing (with the dewytree 7 cut cleanser) and using this peeling-slash-cleansing mask my pores are pretty free of dirt. For the first usage, definitely 5/5 points.

However this is the disappointing part. I don’t know if it was just me, or if I did something wrong, but the second time I used it – two days later – it didn’t make the nice lumps and, to put it short, it was a useless thing to put on my skin. You can see, I couldn’t even get it to lump a little. So my second usage was a complete fail.

Here this mask costs around 1$ and I think online it always retails at around 2$. It is definitely better to have this mask traveling and use it even if just once than to not peel (or exfoliate haha) my skin for a whole week or two. However, I’m not sure I want to risk only being able to use it once.

Since I was satisfied with the previous mask I had tried, and since the first usage was effective on my sensitive skin I might give this a shot again later. However my opinion is quite divided. First usage top score, second usage complete fail – for the Korean price still worth it, but for 2$ I really would have to think about it.

A note on this one is that it softens the skin and smoothens its texture, and it’s not a strong product at all. So it’s either for maintenance or for friction sensitive skins or skins that don’t have that many flakes (mine is all of the above). If you want some more effective peeling (considering this is as effective as my first usage) you might want to try a peeling pad at first, or a clay mask.
