[REVIEW] New 2018 Aritaum Seaweed Dust Cut Moisturizing Mask

Aritaum Seaweed Dust Cut Moisturizing Mask was purchased by Cosmeperks.

The pollution in Korea is crazy. To the point I got asthma and skin allergies because of it! If you check the news, the pollution level here is God-knows-how-many-times worse than European levels. With such conditions it’s not unusual that lots of Korean brands have whole lines dedicated to fixing the problems pollution gives to our skins.

This line consists of 4 masks, and I chose my first one to be the Moisturizing one (in Korean they call it hydrating, not moisturizing, which is why I chose it). Because my skin needs hydration and moisture (which this blue mask promises), elasticity (which the whole line promises) and anti-pollution care (literally the whole point of this line). I have high expectations for this baby.

+ One pack a day gives you the healing you need.

+ The purification of hydration and moisturizing care.

+ You will get more moist skin with 3 types of hyaluronic acid in this mask.

+ The mask sheet is made of real seaweed, that absorbs more essence than the brand’s normal mask sheets.

+ The essence also has seaweed. Extracts of five different seaweeds that give it a honey-like texture.

Purified Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Yam Root Extract, Basil Flower / Leaf / Stem Extract, Ash Tree Extract, Algae Extract, Chestnut Extract, Myrtle Leaf Extract,Mungbean Extract, Seaweed Extract, Lilac Extract, Rose Flower Extract, Lavender Flower Extract, Madonna Lily Flower Extract, Lotus Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, C12-14 Parath-12, Panthenol, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Citrate, Methylpropanediol, Xanthan Gum, Xylityl Glucoside, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Xylitol, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Fragrance, 1,2-hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexyl Glycerin

Aritaum Seaweed Dust Cut Moisturizing Mask Review:

First of all, the design is so adorable it makes me want to sing Under The Sea and pretend I’m Ariel! I love it so much and I want all the collection’s masks just so I can take nice pictures.

As you can see it didn’t open in the most beautiful way ever, there are some mask pouches that just open in a clean cut as if it was done with scissors. This one is messy and crooked, but it opened just as easily nonetheless.

By looking at the application images on the back I would never have guessed it had a mesh on it but I felt it as soon as my fingers gripped it still inside the pouch, and here is the visual confirmation.

Even before opening I can tell how soft the actual mask is since I feel each square of the mesh.

As you can see the mask HAS BUBBLES once you remove the mesh! And the essence is soooo snotty I hope there aren’t sea snails here. Or I will freak. I’m off to discover the scientific name of sea snails bye.

Okay, but seriously it’s so snotty some of the strings stretch as much as glue! You can see it there in the last photo.

See, see?

You will see later in the before and after photo, but my skin condition isn’t the best today. And I have zero idea why.

So as soon as I put it on there was some light stinging on my lip allergy (which I’m sure is because of the pollution today, thus me trying this mask today).

The stinging turned to numbness after a while.

As you can see, the fit is decent but the adherence is amazing. It folds a little under my chin which I absolutely love. And it doesn’t lift on my nose, which is even better! So the fit is like 3.8/5 but the adherence is a 5. I guess that’s why they needed the mesh, or else unfolding the mask would have been a piece of work.

The essence isn’t that thick for something that snotty. It spreads super easily and as I “scrub” it into my skin it becomes like white micro bubbles? It’s okay, I had toners do that to me before, so it is fine. Anyway, it does take forever to absorb and once it does it isn’t as sticky as one would think.

The smell isn’t of seaweed but it is on the sea side of scents. It’s light, lighter than any Mamonde mask for example, but if you look for it you can feel the sea! I think it’s nice and relaxing and for a person who lived by the sea for 25 years it’s the most delighting smell in the world /biased.

Once the 20 minutes are up there is some slight dryness on the mask under my nose, but the adherence maintained perfectly.

You can see here the before and after the mask.

Even before absorption there is some obvious settling down on my skin worries. The skin is way brighter and less red than it was. The pores look… clean.  After the essence absorbed my skin is even calmer, less bloated pores, less vermillion.

I’m sorry for so many photos of the after, but even after it absorbed I let my skin rest a little before proceeding with my skin care and my skin got even calmer.

Now, my skin isn’t nourished or moist at all – but it feels like I had a soothing gel on that cleared away a lot of… skin reactions. Somehow. And it feels hydrated, although not as good as, for example, the Aritaum Hyaluronic Acid one. Or lots of other masks.

Whatever they are doing for the anti-dust technology, it helped my skin rid of the irritation caused by the fine dust.

(I’m sorry for so many photos of after but this mask’s essence just seems to sink in more as time goes by)

When I completed my skin care to cover the lack of moisture, my skin felt amazing. It feels like this mask’s essence really takes some time to sink in, but once it does it’s like I was never outside with a pollution red warning. It looks better than it did this morning.

I don’t love the results as a spa mask in general, but the anti-dust results (or more like the results that were influenced by everything dust related) are amazing.

So choose one of the characteristics you like the most and if you live in Korea, China, or other places with crazy amounts of pollution maybe you can give this mask a shot too!

It’s not a spa mask but it’s pretty nice to heal the impurities of pollution.
