[REVIEW] Skinfood Beauty in a Food Mask Sheet Centella Asiatica

Skinfood Beauty in a Food Mask Sheet Centella Asiatica Review

Skinfood Beauty in a Food Mask Sheet Centella Asiatica Review:

This sheet mask came as a beauty sample with my order when I restocked on some K-Beauty favorites. Previously I had tried Skinfood’s Wash Off Rice Mask and was neutral about it – while it was easy to use, it was hard to tell if it made a difference in my skin or not. My previous experience aside, I was curious about what this sheet mask had to offer.

For those new to the brand, Skinfood is known for its skincare and beauty products that boast creating healthy-looking skin using natural ingredients. Centella Asiatica is an ingredient found in Asia that is used to treat and help troubled skin with soothing properties. Apparently the ingredient is attributed to clearing acne-prone skin, which is appealing for someone like me who experiences the occasional breakout.

[REVIEW] belif Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner

belif Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner Review

belif Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner Review:

My experience with the belif The True Crème Aqua Bomb moisturizer was pleasant and I was interested in learning more about belif’s other products. I saw a major beauty store was offering a reward that featured travel and tester sizes of belif products that could be used to do a full K-beauty skincare routine, which I bought. The toner was included as the second step in the process. Prior to trying the set, I never used toner, thinking it was an extraneous product that skincare companies used to get people to buy and use more products in their routines. Out of all the other items, I really liked the scent of this product and did notice a difference after using many times. When I ran out of the tester size, I purchased the full sized product.

For those who are new to the brand, belif is a mid-price skincare brand from Korea, best known for their face moisturizers. Belif products are described as being inspired by 19th Century apothecary processes, using the purest ingredients, combined with modern skin science.

[REVIEW] VT x BTS Collagen Pact SPF50+ PA+++ | #21

VT x BTS Collagen Pact #21 Review

VT x BTS Collagen Pact #21 Review:

Since June 2017, articles and social media sites were buzzing about the anticipated cosmetics collaboration with unknown brand VT Cosmetics and popular Korean band BTS. Around October, the brand launched two foundation cushion compacts – a black one and a white one, both containing collagen in the formulas. The black compact was targeted for mid-twenties and older skin, while the white compact was for early to mid-twenties. Many were flocking to the black compact, while I gravitated to the white compact after reading translated descriptions of the formulas via the brand’s website.

VT Cosmetics, formerly Vant Cosmetics, originally specialized in oral health. They’ve rebranded themselves as a mid to upper end health and beauty brand offering a range of products to help with overall body health. Celebrity endorsement aside, their compact was the only foundation product I’ve seen that includes collagen in the formula. Because I’m in my mid-twenties, the thought of trying something with collagen in it sounded appealing, as I’ve been encouraged to take care of my skin before it starts changes with age. The special compact was offered in shade, 21, when I purchased it. Since its launch, the brand has introduced a warmer shade, 23 as another option.

Moonshot Face Perfection Balm Cushion Review

Moonshot Face Perfection Balm Cushion Review:

Moonshot Cosmetics is YG Entertainment’s skincare and beauty brand that specializes in offering unique products that achieve a natural look, as seen on their most popular singers and performers. It is a mid-priced line with minimalist packaging and many of their products tout a 2-in-1 function to make them more useful in application. This is their second cushion they produced, using the same formula as their Face Perfection Balm Foundation, only in a cushion compact format. Currently YG’s newest girl group BLACKPINK is the face of this product, as the members are known for their dewy, flawless skin on stage.

The Face Shop x MARVEL Anti-Darkening Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ V203 Natural Beige Review

The Face Shop x MARVEL Anti-Darkening Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ | V203 Natural Beige Review:

I came across this compact while shopping the K-Beauty section of an online Asian fashion and beauty site. Because the lid of the cushion was themed to Captain America’s shield, I thought it was clever and a fun design. Originally I purchased it on the site I was perusing but they were unable to fulfill my order, resulting in a long search to locate an online retailer who still stocked the cushion for a fair price. Eventually I located one on a US site and bought it right away.

Shiseido White Lucent Power Brightening Mask Sheet Review

Shiseido White Lucent Power Brightening Mask Review:

Sephora offered a special Shiseido reward in May for their Insider Program, which included various Shiseido sun and skincare samples to try. I use their SPF 50 sunscreen and was interested in trying their face masks. According to the brand, this mask is inspired by iontophoresis, which is a beauty treatment that saturates skin with a generous amount of brightening ingredients.

[Review] Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil

Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil Review

Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil Review:

A Sephora clerk used this product on me when I asked her to create a daily K-Beauty regiment for me to follow that was 4-5 steps. This was the first step in the regiment, which was for cleansing my skin and removing makeup. It serves as the “double cleanse” step that one takes in a K-Beauty routine. This was one of my favorite items she used on me during the service and I purchased it because I loved the texture and scent.

[Review] SexyLook Disney Princess Black Mask Sheet Belle

SexyLook Disney Princess Black Mask Sheet Belle Review

SexyLook Disney Princess Black Mask Sheet Belle Review:

The beautiful illustration of Belle caught my eye when I bought the Etude Bubble House Sleeping Pack and I picked up one of the Disney x SexyLook masks to try. This is one of the masks from Sexy Look’s Disney princess line and it happened to be the most popular one according to the shop. Most were buying it because it was Belle and others because they wanted the benefits of using the mask. I’ve seen other masks by SexyLook but wanted to try this one as it promoted hydration and because it was Disney themed.

[Review] Candy Doll Lip Gloss in Cotton Candy

Candy Doll Lip Gloss in Cotton Candy Review

Candy Doll Lip Gloss in Cotton Candy Review:

My friend recommended Candy Doll products to me, as she was a huge fan of Japanese cosmetic brands that evoked a doll or Gyaru-like look. Japanese model Tsubasa Masuwaka, a popular face for Popteen Magazine and many ads, endorsed the brand, as she evoked the ideal girly beauty of the Candy Doll ideal.

I picked up this lip gloss in a local Japanese skincare and beauty shop after seeing the display of Candy Doll cosmetics. Because the color was fairly neutral with a slight pop of pink, I purchased a tube to try out.
