[Review] Benton Fermentation Essence

Benton Fermentation Essence was purchased by Cosmeperks for review purposes.

I am not gonna lie and pretend that I do some thorough research before I decide to buy a product –guess I’ve had enough readings IRL. If the mass says it’s good, I take their word for it, rush through the mall (or add it to my cart), close my eyes and pray that it would work well enough with my skin. I guess us girls, would have to admit that we’ve reached this point in trying to chase that chok chok skin.

Amongst the rising super ingredients in Asian Beauty is Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate –I have seen quite a lot of products having this as their main ingredient. In fact, I have already acquired a GFF Essence in the past and it was quite good. But then, it wouldn’t be much of a skincare journey if I stop with something that is just quite good, right? Now allow me to breakdown for you another galactomyces product from a well-known brand – Benton Fermentation Essence.

Benton Fermentation Essence is a wrinkle improvement functional premium cosmetic which contains Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Bifida Ferment Lysate, EGF and Ceramide ingredients. It helps to prevent your skin damage and relieve skin irritations and stress.

Benton Fermentation Essence Review:

Benton Fermentation Essence comes in a black and sturdy pump-type bottle. Truth be told, I don’t like how the bottle comes in a solid color as I could not see how much product is left. Anyway, I was pretty excited to try this so I used it the night that I have received this. I hastily pumped the essence on my palm and was surprised that the essence is very watery!

I hurriedly check for the expiration date and was somehow calmed by the fact that it is far from its expiration. However, I felt that I must have gotten a bad batch because essences are not supposed to be really runny. I had to google if there are reports on bad batches of Benton Fermentation Essence. I was finally pacified when I’ve read that Benton Fermentation Essence is actually watery for it is categorized as a First Treatment Essence (FTE). You see, there are two kinds of essences: the normal ones that we are accustomed to that are quite viscous and the other one is known as FTE –which are fast absorbing and has really thin consistency that you could confuse them for a toner.

With that said, Benton Fermentation Essence is suggested to be applied right after washing your face or if you are using a toner, you should follow it right away with this essence (your face has to be a damp upon application). Personally, I skip on the toner because I don’t think my skin needs more hydration. In the first few days, I have used Benton Fermentation Essence as a stand-alone essence of my routine.

As I’ve mentioned, this essence has a really thin consistency and feels as light as water on skin. It doesn’t even take a minute for it to be fully absorbed by my skin. The essence is clear with no discernible scent. I use about 3-4 pumps on my face and neck because I want my face to be really drenched with all the goodness that it promises.

Honestly, I don’t even need two weeks to see if a product works, I mean, I just know that it works. In Benton Fermentation Essence’s case, I know that it works because my skin tells me so. I could say that I get a bit of firming because my face seems like it’s put up well together, if you know what I mean.

But, in case you don’t know what I mean, try to imagine how your skin would look like if you do a 10-hour sleep? I mean, sleep is good but you know anything in excess is BAD and sleeping is no exception. Now imagine doing a 10-hour sleeps in a row.

You see, I’ve been getting long weekends lately, and instead of spending my days in a beach or soak myself in the sun, I opted to make up for my sleepless nights due to school. By this time, my face should somewhat be saggy or a little loose (if that even makes sense) but to my delight, my face looked alright –like my skin was beautifully held by an invisible thread in their right places. I couldn’t say much about wrinkle improvement because I don’t really observe wrinkles on my face yet, I can only attest to its firming ability.

While the firming capability of Benton Fermentation Essence is exquisite, it doesn’t help that much in terms of skin calming or repairing. My Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence performs way better in that department. Luckily, with this being an FTE, I could use this for the toner step in my routine! So, I have been using it with conjunction of my Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence and my skin has never been better!

However, I could not give the sole credit on this essence because I have been using sheet mask on a daily basis. I knew it would be hard to do an assessment because I couldn’t afford to sacrifice my regimen right now (my skin is irritated than usual due to extreme heat) just to make a thorough evaluation of its efficacy.

To resolve this issue, I’ve decided to apply half pump of this essence exclusively on my left hand –and I did this little experiment in a span of 14 days too! At first glance, you wouldn’t really see any difference, but if you try to look closely, you would notice a slight difference. The picture might not be able to capture the tiny details, but in person, my hands look differently! I know I am not just imagining things for I’ve asked two of my colleagues if they spot any difference between my hands. According to them, my left hand is lighter and the texture is comparably better than the other.

I guess, I’m just gonna leave you with a photo of my hands so you could evaluate it yourself. ☺

Overall, I love this product and would continuously use it on the toning part of my skincare routine. This product was able to improve my skin’s texture and maintain my skin’s radiance. It may not be as potent as the Snail Bee Essence in terms of healing but it compensate well with its lifting ability. It seems like it has a promising ability in terms of firming too! What I love most about this product is its consistency which makes it a versatile piece of my skincare routine.

Benton Fermentation Essence would work alright with any skin type even with sensitive ones as it doesn’t have red flags (upon checking CosDNA) although, I feel that this would be most beneficial for dull and mature skin.
