[REVIEW+SWATCHES] Moonshot Micro Settingfit Cushion 201 Beige

Moonshot Micro Settingfit Cushion 201 Beige Review

Moonshot Micro Settingfit Cushion 201 Beige Review:

When I went to Seoul last 2017, I was not as hooked on K-beauty as I am right now. I wasn’t familiar with must-try products except for those offered by road shop brands available in the Philippines like Etude House, Tony Moly, etc. Needless to say, I was really fascinated to see women of different ages (from teens waiting in line for a ride in Everland, ladies on their commute to work, and even grandmothers on the train towards hiking destinations) applying cushion. This made me want to get my hands on this magical compact which seems to be the secret behind the coveted Korean porcelain skin.

The first ever cushion I bought was from Laneige but found it too heavy and dewy for my liking (not at all suitable for the hot and humid weather we have). I ended up just using that one a few times and giving away the refill it came with. This bad experience didn’t discourage me to avoid cushions all together though.

On the contrary, it actually made me want to try out more brands to look for my perfect match. It was last year when an online shopping site had their crazy sale on Moonshot products. All their cushions were sold for only $9.99 which I thought was such a bargain so I grabbed that opportunity to get myself one.

Reading the description of the different kinds of cushions available from the brand, I decided that this Micro Settingfit one is the most ideal for my oily skin since it claims to have a matte finish which my oily skin can benefit from. It didn’t have a refill (unlike their Balm type cushion) which was quite a bummer but I still decided to purchase this one.

By the way, Moonshot is a very new brand for me. The only information I know about it is that it has affiliations with the entertainment company YG. I’m not really a K-pop fan anymore but I believe Black Pink is their current endorser. Who wouldn’t want to achieve Lisa’s perfect skin right?

Anyway, I’ve been using this cushion for months now and I’d like to share my experience and opinions about it. If you’re curious to know if I’ve finally found my perfect cushion, please read until the end. For now, here are some details about the product:

[REVIEW] 2019 NEW COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner

COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner Review

COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner was purchased by Cosmeperks.

When Nigama contacted me to do a sponsored review and offered COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner, I was very interested seeing this product’s advertisement. First, I had no experience trying COSRX products before (yes I know I was outdated for not joining the hype); and second, COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner hadn’t been sold in my country yet. Aaanndd, it has such fascinating ingredients list I expect quite a lot! After rambling around the product details on the internet (which was very very rare), I found out that COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner was a product of COSRX x SYDNEY collaboration. That SYDNEY name didn’t ring a bell to me, but it might sound familiar for some of you.

To be honest, my previous SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Glow Toner hadn’t ran out yet, but on the bright side, I could do the exact comparison between COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner and it. A little flashback, I had to remind how satisfied I was with the latter and I’m quite curious to see whether COSRX could beat the SOME BY MI result. So, in order to make it more evident, I decided to use them parallel to both sides of my face.

[REVIEW] MIZON Collagen Firming Eye Cream

MIZON Collagen Firming Eye Cream Review

MIZON Collagen Firming Eye Cream Review:

While Korean skincare brands tend to innovate every now and then about their lines and star ingredients, I have to express my dissatisfaction toward their concern to their eye cream products. The varies are barely developed, or at least launched at the market. I always find this problem of buying a new eye cream (as well as sunscreen products) once the previous one ran out : rambling around veteran skincare brands like Mizon, Secret Key, Etude House, and so on, since the latest and current brands don’t exactly pay more attention to launch eye creams. This time, I chose Mizon since I’d tried Secret Key before, and maybe Etude House would take turn next!

[REVIEW] Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream

Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream Review

Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream Review:

Have you ever used a product for the first time and thought, “Yup, this is the one.”? As a beauty enthusiast, I always want to try new things so I don’t typically stick to using the same products over and over again (even if they worked well for my skin). And it doesn’t help that there is seemingly an infinite number of newer and better products to try out there.

But once in a while, you fall in love with a product so much that the fear of missing out on newer products suddenly disappears. That’s what I happened when I first used this Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate.

Why? I’ll tell you the reasons in a bit but for now let’s learn more about the brand and some details about the product.
I’ve been seeing products from Illiyoon every now and again but they didn’t really catch my attention enough to buy them. Perhaps that can be attributed to their boring packaging (there are just so many adorable or chic looking products out there!).

Anyway, it was when I saw Kelly Driscoll’s youtube videos where she discussed how much she loves this cream that I decided to try it out for myself. Fortunately, I saw a smaller size on sale in shopee. I got mine for only $2 for a 70ml tube which is such a steal!

According to what I’ve read, Illiyoon is a part of Amore Pacific which is one of the biggest beauty companies in Korea (also owns Mamonde, Laneige, Innisfree, etc). The brand aims to deliver gentle but deeply nourishing products perfect for those which sensitive skin types. In fact, their products can also be used for babies. Since I have a one year old baby, this is a plus point for me.

[REVIEW] Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner

Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner Review

Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner Review:

These days, Isntree has been booming in the Asian Beauty community with their simple no-frills skincare products. They first garnered popularity with their famous Hyaluronic acid toner which I also thoroughly enjoyed, resulting in me falling in love with the brand.

Isntree’s Green Tea Fresh Toner on the other hand, appealed to me due to it being a light watery toner which I find more ideal for daytime use for combo or oily-skinned folks, especially those living in countries with high humidity all year long.

[REVIEW] OMI Menturm Verdio UV Moisture Essence SPF50+ PA++++

OMI Menturm Verdio UV Moisture Essence SPF50+ PA++++ Review

OMI Menturm Verdio UV Moisture Essence SPF50+ PA++++ Review:

If you like Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence, you will probably love this sunscreen too. To me, this is all the goodness of Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence minus the alcohol and fragrance. So you won’t have to suffer from the hideous smell of alcohol in disguise of very heavy citrusy fragrance and it won’t irritate your sensitive skin too. Honestly, after testing it out, I keep wondering why people don’t talk about it because it truly deserves the love.

[REVIEW] SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica Cream

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica Cream Review

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica Cream Review:

Beauty trends may revolve and changes every now and then, including the star ingredients in beauty products. There were times when almost all brands suddenly developed products with snail mucin, aloe vera, galactomyces, etc. Looking back in 2018, I think centella asiatica is the star ingredient! So many beauty brands invented new products with centella asiatica in their formulation and it became one of the selling points. No wonder, centella asiatica (also known as tiger grass or ‘pegagan’) has been famous for generations as medication that soothes skin damages, hydrates, and reduces uneven skin tones.

With all the hype marketing, of course I fell into Skin1004 Centella Asiatica Cream when it was launched! I couldn’t find many reviews on this moisturizer because Skin1004 is more famous for its Madagascar Cenetella Asiatica ampoule and whenever I Googled, reviews for the ampoule popped up. From the few reviews I found, they said Skin1004 Cream is lightweight and non-sticky, so as a normal-to-oily skin bearer, I chose to go with it. A week later, Skin1004 Centella Asiatica Cream arrived to my house.

[REVIEW] Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence Mint Green SPF50+ PA++++

Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence Mint Green SPF50+ PA++++ Review

Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence Mint Green SPF50+ PA++++ Review:

I thought this product would be a nice replacement for my Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence in the sense that it provides gentle correction to even out the complexion, so I can save time by skipping CC cream. I have heard people raving about the original Tone Up Essence in lavender purple hue. So when Rohto released the mint green version this summer for redness-prone skin, I decided to give it a try to justify the hype.

[REVIEW] A’PIEU Madecassoside Cica Gel

A’PIEU Madecassoside Cica Gel Review

A’PIEU Madecassoside Cica Gel Review:

As I constantly struggle with hormonal cystic acne, I try not to use heavy creams that are oil based, especially in the summer time. Now that it’s getting warmer in Canada, I am starting to breakout more. I was eagerly looking for a gel cream to not only hydrate but heal my skin, and I came across the A’pieu Madecassoside Cica Gel.

A’pieu is really famous for their Madecassoside line. They have a massive skincare range from toners and ampoules to creams and cleansing foams. I am an avid user of the Madecassoside sun cream and I absolutely adore it, but I’ll save that for another review.

The gel comes in a tub and a tube that are both 50ml. I chose the tube version for sanitary purposes as I don’t like the idea of dipping my fingers in.
