[REVIEW] Etude House Active Proof Liquid Fitting Base SPF50+ PA++++ Light Beige

Etude House Active Proof Liquid Fitting Base SPF50+ PA++++ Light Beige Review

Etude House Active Proof Liquid Fitting Base SPF50+ PA++++ Light Beige Review:

With the satisfying result of the Etude’s Active Proof Shield Wear Color Tint, it makes this foundation listed on my ‘next-to-try’ list. I’ve been trying to find it everywhere but the only way I can get it is by get it directly from Korea and it takes 4 to 6 weeks so I decide to wait until someone stock it and I’m so happy that finally my local seller has it on stock!

So Active Proof Liquid Fitting Base is a part of their latest summer collection, the Active Proof line. Consists of various products, this collection is perfect for summer season since it’s waterproof, lightweight, and stay all day. I don’t know exactly what this product is since Etude House didn’t explain if it’s a foundation, BB cream, or just a skin tint.

The ‘waterproof and stay all day part’ sounds too good to be true but the lip tint performs exactly as they said so I believed them and decide to try the foundation. If it’s truly stay all day, it’d be a good news for everyone with oily skin.

But unfortunately, they only make it in 2 different shades. There are definitely more than 2 skin tones in this world but as usual from a Korean brand, you can’t expect them to have wide range of shades selection. I got the lightest shade but somehow I found it’s not exactly my perfect shade so the shade range really disappoints me.

[REVIEW] Scinic Ceramide 100 All in One Ampoule

Scinic Ceramide 100 All in One Ampoule Review

Scinic Ceramide 100 All in One Ampoule Review:

Scinic is well known for their Honey all in one ampoule, and it’s an ampoule that many people enjoy using, so naturally when Scinic came out with three new ampoules I was curious to see how they would compare to the old ones. They actually came out in 2017 so they aren’t that new (oops) but it seems that not many people have tried them or written about them. The new (ceramide, centella and vitamin c) ampoules are larger (300ml) than the honey, aqua and snail ones, and also come with a pump which makes them more convenient to use.

I couldn’t resist buying (and trying) this ceramide ampoule when I found out it also contained shea butter. I’ve always been looking for products that contain both of these things because I think it sounds like a good combination. The fact that there were no reviews made me a bit nervous but in the end I just decided to try it out, even if it was a bit of a risky purchase. Read on to see if my risky purchase was a good or bad idea.

[REVIEW] 2018 NEW Etude House 3 Minutes Care Mask Turmeric

Etude House 3 Minutes Care Mask Turmeric Review

Etude House 3 Minutes Care Mask Turmeric Review:

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for this collection! It copies the Ottogi (famous food brand) design. It includes “copies” of their mayo (in shower pack), curry (this mask) and jajjang (brown mask), with also some Ottogi inspired morning mask sheets. I chose curry for my first one because it’s the best food in the world!

[REVIEW] Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Control Hyaluronic Acid Serum 97%

Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Control Hyaluronic Acid Serum 97% Review

Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Control Hyaluronic Acid Serum 97% Review:

There are a good number of Korean skincare and cosmetics products that adopt cutesy designs to attract female consumers. There is a part of me that goes “wooh” and “wah” over these too. But there is just one brand that I think was meant to achieve this, but somehow I did not take to it – Elizavecca.

Reading up on the brand story of Elizavecca, it was said to be established by a “Korean student who studied traditional Chinese medicine” in Year 2011. The brand prides itself on offering its products at affordable prices to allow more people to enjoy beautiful skin. It uses picture of a pig and many of its products has the word “piggy” on their name. I do not find the pig cute and in fact felt that the whole feel of its range of products feel unprofessional and unconvincing.

But as I was searching for hyaluronic product to alleviate my dehydrated skin, this Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Control Hyaluronic Acid 97% which garnered many raved reviews kept coming up on the search results.  So I decided I should cast aside my biasness and give it a try.

[REVIEW] Skinmiso Spot Repairing Serum

Skinmiso Spot Repairing Serum Review

Skinmiso Spot Repairing Serum Review:

Many Korean products that are meant for people with acne, use before and after photos of people who supposedly used their products. It’s impossible to not stumble upon one of these. I personally always react like “eyy there’s no way that’s real” and then I proceed to read more about the product and get mesmerized by the photos.. until I finally use it and realize it’s a complete let-down.

This serum was one of these cases however, knowing that many people love and swear by Skinmiso’s products, I really felt a “this is the one” vibe. I truly had a feeling that this product will make my scars fade away right away- or will it; Read the rest of the review and see for yourself!

[REVIEW] Secret Key Thanakha Mild Sun Cream SPF47 PA+++

Secret Key Thanakha Mild Sun Cream SPF47 PA+++ Review

Secret Key Thanakha Mild Sun Cream SPF47 PA+++ Review:

The sun is something that is both amazing and scary – in the way that it brightens and lightens our days and yet too much sun exposure can give us skin cancer. I guess it isn’t something that bothers or worries everyone, but as someone who lives in a place with extremely high skin cancer rates it does bother me. Because of this I’m always researching for new or different sunscreens because I never know when one will be discontinued, or whether I’ll find one that I like using more. I usually have a bunch of sunscreens on my radar that I plan to try at some stage or another and I found this sunscreen the last time I was looking for one.

I often choose sunscreens after looking at the sunscreen filters, I don’t generally care too much about the other ingredients which may or not be a bad thing. But what I look for is a sunscreen that protects against both types of UVA rays (and UVB rays too). Some sunscreens only partially protect against all of the range of UVA rays, which automatically rules them out for me. It’s another reason I like mineral sunscreens because the mineral filters protect against all the types of UV rays (UVA1, UVA2 and UVB) so it’s easy (for a lazy person like me) to check if it protects well against UVA rays. Phew I wrote a lot of boring stuff, right? Unsurprisingly I mostly chose this sunscreen because it was a mineral sunscreen and I had good experience with the last Secret Key sunscreen. Not the most exciting reason, but somehow this sunscreen appealed more than any of the others I had been researching, so read on if you’re curious to see how well it performed.

Mamonde First Energy Essence Honeysuckle Review

Mamonde First Energy Essence Honeysuckle Review:

Mamonde has been a brand that is enjoying increasing popularity lately and I have been loving this brand ever since I tried their famous Rose Water Toner which I have gone through three bottles and I am still currently using it. This First Energy Essence was introduced after the toner and is another product that has been highly raved by many. Since Mamonde is a skincare brand which I have high expectations for, I decided to give it a try as I have yet to incorporate any first essences into my skincare routine.

[REVIEW] Klairs Mid-Day Blue Sun Lotion SPF 40 / PA++

Klairs Mid-Day Blue Sun Lotion SPF 40 PA++ Review

Klairs Mid-Day Blue Sun Lotion SPF 40 / PA++ Review:

I have tried some other products from Klairs, (like the Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop & the Supple Preparation Facial Toner) and I am very satisfied with those. Klairs is a well known brand for sensitive skins, which already has my attention, and the luxurious ingredients in this formula totally made me give it a go.

[REVIEW] Nature Republic Provence Intensive Ampoule Foundation 01 Light Beige

Nature Republic Provence Intensive Ampoule Foundation 01 Light Beige Review

Nature Republic Provence Intensive Ampoule Foundation 01 Light Beige Review:

I went to Nature Republic near my place weeks ago and I saw this foundation. I never tried any of Nature Republic base product so I was kinda curious and wanted to try one. They have several type of foundations but the name of this foundation itself caught my attention.

From its name, seems the foundation contains ampoule which I believe is very beneficial for the skin. I love when base makeups used skin care ingredients so it’s like I got 2 benefits in one product. It also contain red ginseng, royal jelly, and propolis which is good for moisturizing and firming the skin.

The price is a little bit ‘up there’ but I think it’s fair that it costs more than their other foundations since it has good ingredients. Unfortunately, the shade range is very disappointing. It has only 2 shades option and both shades are so light. I think only very fair to light skinned people can use this foundation.
