[REVIEW] The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Pore Daily Mask Foam

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Pore Daily Mask Foam Review

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Pore Daily Mask Foam Review:

I got this product a long while back but then I bought other clay masks I really loved and never really got to even try this mask. It also is a clay mask, sort of like a melting clay mask, but mainly it’s a daily clay mask! Most of them are meant to be used two times per week.

So when I read this (when I finally paid attention) it intrigued me and I wanted to use this mask starting right then. I guess it’s one of the best instances of shopping my stash! And although it’s no magical wonder it is a very good mask and it also taught me about other clay masks. Not to mention it’s a mask and a cleanser all at once!

[REVIEW] Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque

Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque Review

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque Review:

First, let’s get a bit of our knowledge on the history of the brand.
Kiehl’s is one of the most prestagious brand name when it comes to high-end skincare products.
In 1951, there was a store founded to serve patrons in East Village, Manhattan. Until 1894, John Kiehl purchased the store and renamed it Kiehl Pharmacy. In 1921, Irving Morse – apprentice to Kiehl bought the pharmacy. This marks another remarkable developing stage of the brand. During the 70s, Kiehl’s gained great popularity as a luxurious cosmetics brand with safe ingredients and especially, the launch of the renown Calendula Herbal extract Alcohol-free toner. The distinct marketing method of Kiehl’s during this time is based on word-of-mouth and giving free samples to customers. Later, Kiehl’s is purchased by L’oreal Group and now, Kiehl’s has more than 250 stores and showrooms all over the world. Until now, Kiehl’s has gained the reputation for their wide range of products: haircare, skincare, fragrance, bodycare and men’s grooming. All of the products from Kiehl’s are well-known for their natural-based and safe ingredients offered via sophisticated formulations.

To celebrate my bachelor graduation, I decided to get something a bit fancy and Kiehl’s masks came first in my mind. Moreover, the Spring weather in Vietnam is getting so hot and humid. Everyday in the period from early January to March, the temperature would rocket from 28oC to as high as 34-35oC at noon and then “calm down” back to 27-28oC in the evening. Usually, my skin would lose immense amount of hydration and produce a lot of sebum if left unattended.

Combining all of the conditions, I would opt for something that offers refreshing sensation, helps control my sebum production and clears up my congested pores. Up till this point, you may know what I was about to get: yes, you can tell by the title already haha. It’s the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. My summary review for this product is: I love it x 10 times.

[REVIEW] Etude House Honey Cera Wrapping Mask

Etude House Honey Cera Wrapping Mask Review

Etude House Honey Cera Wrapping Mask Review:

I’ve faithfully been using the Cosrx honey sleeping mask for a long time, when one day I saw that Etude House had one in their Honey Cera line. I became curious to see how I would like the Etude House mask, since I’ve been a fan of the Cosrx one for a long time. I wasn’t expecting them to be similar at all, but the honey and ceramides drew me to try the Etude House.

I had not heard anything about this mask, so I wanted to try it just because it comes in a larger size and I needed a change from the usual sleeping pack that I use.  What I failed to realize until I had ordered it – was that this mask was actually a wash off mask and not a sleeping pack, unlike the Cosrx one. So can it be used as a sleeping pack or is it purely only a wash off mask, read on to see…

[REVIEW] Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Melting Clay Mask

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Melting Clay Mask Review

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Melting Clay Mask Review:

Innisfree finally decided to open their stores in Indonesia in 2017 last year. When I was visiting their new opening store, this product was the first one that caught my eyes. Totally because it is a “clay mask”, and at that time I knew very well how popular Innisfree Clay Mask and I heard so many good things about it from beauty gurus. Because I hope that this product will give the satisfactory result, or probably better than the Super Volcanic Clay Mask, so I decided to try out this product.

[REVIEW] Korres Natural Clay Deep Cleansing Mask

Korres Natural Clay Deep Cleansing Mask Review

Korres Natural Clay Deep Cleansing Mask Review:

Probably the smallest non-single usage mask I’ve ever seen and used, this is just one of the many, many flavors Korres came up with. It basically was their own attempt to jump on the charcoal mask trend but in their own way. This one is meant for deep cleansing which at first doesn’t sound as attractive or special as firming or brightening sounds like but let me say one thing.

Everything depends on cleansing correctly. Sure, double cleansing does a great job but once in a while it’s important to clear your skin from all the unwanted, persistent stuff. By doing that, you’re supposed to reduce sebum production which in excess, can cause acne and all of its children to appear. If you can prevent that, you can also get a smoother skin texture. On top of that, it’s all natural, it’s just cleansing.

[REVIEW] NIOD Flavanone Mud

NIOD Flavanone Mud Review

NIOD Flavanone Mud Review:

I was on the lookout for a mud mask that is strong but at the same time wont dry out my skin. I had my share of coming across mud masks that sucked the moisture out of my skin, and that was not pleasant at all. Some are gentle enough, but didn’t really get the job done.

I kept seeing NIOD Flavanone Mud popping up on Instagram, which definitely has piqued my interest. NIOD (which stands for Non Invasive Options in Dermal Science) is a brand that is under Deceim, the same parent company as The Ordinary. However NIOD’s price range is higher than The Ordinary. So I started reading up online reviews about Flavanone Mud and decided that this mask definitely fit the bill of what I was looking for.

[REVIEW] Natura Siberica by Alena Akhmadullina Face mask Energy and Nourishing

Natura Siberica by Alena Akhmadullina Face mask Energy and Nourishing Review

Natura Siberica by Alena Akhmadullina Face mask Energy and Nourishing Review:

When I went to Russia this summer the thing I was most interested in was this collection. For two reasons. One is that it was made in collaboration with Russian personality Alena Akhmadullina and, like her or not, you can’t deny she is really pretty! The other one is because its main ingredient is Nanai Berries, a very characteristic berry that is found in Russia and Northern China. So, as Russian as this company is, it is still tremendously Asian, and from the previous products I tried they are a good balance between European and Asian skin care.

I did buy more products, but the one I tried first was the scrub mask. The reason for that is (one) I have way too much open skin care on other categories and (two) I need a scrubbing product for my product that actually works stronger than on my face and lighter than a body scrub. (But of course I tested it on my face too)

[REVIEW] New 2017 Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask Rose

Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask Rose Review

Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask Rose was purchased by Cosmeperks.

“The strength of beauty can be discovered in flowers. Inspired by flowers.”

This is another of the new flower masks collection recently released by Mamonde. Previously here on Cosmeperks I have reviewed the Calendula sleeping mask and the Eoseong Cho clay mask. And although both smell divine and both are good, my opinion was different for each of them.

I won’t spoil you and tell you my thoughts right away, so instead I’ll tell you what expectations I had! I thought this would be a bubbling clay mask, like those very popular ones we see on Instagram, and that it would bubble as much as the Nature Republic O2 bubble foam masks (or almost as much). I also expected that, as a clay mask, it would be a little harsh on the skin (since the Eoseong Cho mask was gentle on the clay part of it).

[REVIEW] April Skin Mummy Mud Mask

April Skin Mummy Mud Mask Review

April Skin Mummy Mud Mask Review:

If you’re gaga over cushions, it would be impossible not get acquainted with April Skin; this brand is very popular for their snow fixing cushions with outstanding coverage. I was curious about their overly hyped cushion but when I was able to swatch it, I thought, “Uh-oh, too much coverage, my skin won’t be able to breathe” so I didn’t buy it. But I bought the April Skin Mummy Mud Mask just because I wanted to experience the brand. After all, my Innisfree mud mask’s effects on my skin seem to have reached its saturation point so I’m on the lookout for a good substitute!
