[REVIEW] CATRIN Natural 100 Mineral Sunkill RX SPF46 PA+++ | Brush Type

CATRIN Natural 100 Mineral Sunkill RX SPF46 PA+++ | Brush Type Review:

I am always in search for a perfect sunblock. Having skin this sensitive, that is never-ending quest. Sunblocks do tend to break me out, leave my face ghostly, and when I think ‘this is it’ in the morning, afternoon proves me wrong making my skin angry. Although I do have my candidates for the HG status, it has almost gotten fun to search for another.

I am especially interested in those sunscreen products in ‘reapply throughout the day’ category. I also want it not to disturb my makeup, and I want it to be effortless yet efficient for lazy afternoons at home drinking tea on my terrace without making such cosmetic fuss.

So I stumbled upon Catrin Natural 100 Mineral Sunkill RX SPF 46 PA+++ with the brush. Ok, this should be a nice way to spend time outdoors and elegantly and effortlessly reapply my sunblock, told myself and bought it without more research.

Product claims seemed legit. So Catrin says:

  • “Gives longer skin protection from sun with upgraded SPF,
  • Cover blemishes and pores giving natural cover for 25 hours,
  • Nature derived minerals give clear application for men and women,
  • Mineral combine gives first clean fit for long hours,
  • 100% nature derived ingredients with no oil or chemicals! Provides non sticky soft skin look,

  • SPF 46 PA+++”

Such a short list and pretty safe for sensitive skins. No chemical UV filters, no harsh ingredients. Just minerals as a physical shield of your skin.

Volume: 2.5 grams.

My Skin Type: Aging, Hypersensitive, dehydrated (or no more) rosacea skin.

Korean beauty brand Catrin is very intriguing as they promote mineral makeup in conjunction with skin care. Very appealing for those in search of skin healing or improvement of any kind. Catrin also made their brand name for marketing appeal as the acronym of following:

C (Clean)

A (Alluring)

T (Treasure)

R (Refinement)

I (Improve)

N (Nature)

This product is my first of Catrin collection. Something tells me it won’t be the last.

Such a nice concept. BUT… When I opened the packaging, I was surprised that the brush was this hard. Not happy for sensitive skins as this brush can easily be used as an exfoliator. Not kidding. So I must use it with really (and I mean really) gentle patting strokes on face. After a while, I just learned to ignore it and use my fluffy, soft kabuki instead. Also learned that this is like nice, healthy transparent setting powder and like that works great.

When I take it with me to wherever I need it, I tend to treat it with caution. Why? Well, because this little packaging likes to unscrew itself in my bag. Imagine my joy. Saw it just on time and I now put some glue tape on it for better be safe than sorry. Yes, I know, very elegant. Right.

This is also better choice for oily skin types. I find it rather drying on my face. Not exactly crackly, patchy drying, rather slightly tightening feel. You know that feeling when you know you have skin on your face. That is how I know that this is resilient on my face throughout the day. No matter what I do during the day, I feel this sunscreen on my face until the moment I wash it off in the evening.

My skin is aging, dehydrated, sensitive with rosacea. So oily skins could find this powder sunscreen interesting for keeping shine at bay.

I will not repurchase this brush type Catrin Sunkill. I will try the other version with the puff. Same product, yet simpler to use. And also contains 12 grams of the product. Sigh.

  1. Hello, Marijana this looks amazing. the way it helps the skin and the benifits from it all. You have really gone into detail about it all and I thank you very much for that. I am also wondering have you tried any of the Rodan and Fields products. I was thinking of giving them ago but would like to know if you have even tried them? Thanks
