Celderma Make Up Quick Priming Mask Review:
I will come right out and say it: I’m not sure I buy this whole priming mask thing. But I am very intrigued by it being a quick mask that is done in up to five minutes, and that is an enough selling point for me! Of course I will be judging it also regarding the priming abilities and it better surprise me because if it has priming in the name I expect it to do as much of a good job as my priming sun cream. At least.
1. Boosting and makeup fixer primer mask.
2. A mask that does the basic care and primes the skin all at once!
3. Regardless of your skin’s condition it immediately boosts the skin up and makes your makeup more long-lasting.
4. It is so quick and multi-function it reduces the basic steps of your morning preparation routine.
5. Hydrates the skin while refining the skin texture.
Water, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Betaine, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Glycerin, 1,2-hexanediol, Trehalose, Phenoxyethanol, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Extract, Allantoin, Caffeine, Tromethamine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Lactic Acid, Disodium Edta, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Sodium Hyaluronate, Beta-glucan, Pearl Extract, Caesalpinia Spinose Fruit Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Kappaphycus Alvarezii Extract, P-anisic Acid
How to use:
1. After cleansing, use a facial water (or toner) to prep the skin.
2. Open the pouch and remove the sheet, opening it from the center out first to the right and then to the left (this is important).
3. Apply the mask to your face using the grip prominences on the mask sheet, and starting with the top of your face.
4. Wait for 3 to 5 minutes before removing and promote absorption by tapping the remaining essence with your fingers.
**On busy days you can use the mask while drying your hair or brushing your teeth to save time.
My Skin Type: Combination (dry U oily T), sensitive, needs elasticity, hydration and moisture.
Celderma Make Up Quick Priming Mask Review:
The package is thinner than all others, it’s sort of like… a cheap cookie package. Which makes it less bad for the environment than others, right? And as long as the mask is protected who are we to complain. Design wise, I really don’t care for it at all. Nothing ugly but not special either.
The mask had slid up and didn’t let me open the package in one go, but the pouch is so thin I just tugged it up and it came out easily and cleanly!
The mask is so thin that I couldn’t unfold it and accidentally tore it! This is a first and I’m not enjoying that…
It has the most horrible adherence! It just doesn’t stick to the skin at all.
And it has almost no essence in the mask itself…
But on the bright side it hurts zero on the skin.
There is some scent but nothing that can be identified and so weak most people won’t feel it.
They say to use this mask while blow drying our hair, except this mask is for 5 minutes and my hair takes 40 minutes to dry? So I decided dry my bangs only and see if the mask sticks to my face.
That obviously didn’t work. So I simply applied the mask again and decided to wait it’s all good, all good, this part I expected. That was a stupid advice on their part though.
The essence is so liquid it’s impossible to take a proper swatch photo. Of course it absorbs like a wonder.
And since it’s so liquid I’ll definitely apply the leftover from the pouch on my face (both for hydration and priming purposes).
The smell definitely exists. But nothing I can discern. Anyway, it is weak and smells a little like cosmetics (makeup cosmetics, not skin cosmetics) and that’s the best I can do when it comes to identifying it. Nothing bothersome.
The mask may be super thin with the crappiest adherence ever. And the essence may be so watery it absorbs within seconds. But the essence itself somehow relaxes and hydrates my skin. It feels a little like the Missha Oil Soak mask but without the oil and consequent moisture! This essence is really surprising on the feeling it leaves on the skin.
The essence left in the pouch was enough for 3 layers of application. And whereas it isn’t soothing per se, the essence is hydrating enough to relax my skin and keep my pores tiny!
So on that note I started having hopes again for its priming abilities (since all good face primers need to take care of the pores right). So I proceeded with the rest of my skin care and waited until it absorbed completely.
My skin only needed mist 2 times during the day (which in the heat it’s a low number, for a mask that doesn’t focus on hydration or moisture) and my foundation did last the whole day, completely adhered. My pores were pretty during the day too, even though I didn’t use a pore primer. In fact other than the mask, skincare, and makeup I didn’t wear any other product! No primer sun creams or misting primers.
So this mask does do a good job when we look at the facts. However you can see in the last photo (which I took on the wrong side of the face, sorry) how much sebum I produced during the day (it was a lot of sebum). I was indoors the whole day, didn’t sweat a drop, and it is only 29 to 30 degrees Celcius, which is a very comfortable temperature for me.
In short, all they promised is true. But regardless of the results, having this amount of sebum is a no no. I would rather use a normal mask and apply primer, even if this mask did keep all the promises.
I think if you have a dry skin type you may get away with this, even if it’s sensitive since this mask didn’t hurt at all.
But with these results on me I won’t recommend it to anyone else.
