CLIO Big Aurora Glowing Cushion 02 Lingerie Review:
I’m not a cushion-person so I rarely use cushion foundation for my daily makeup because I find most of cushions don’t last on my oily-combination skin. I do have several cushions that I really love but it is very hard to find one that won’t make my skin looks like a mess.
I notice that usually cushion with skincare suit me the most then CLIO released their new cushion called Big Aurora Glowing Cushion and I can’t help but want to try it so bad since their claim is too good to pass on. CLIO describes it as a cushion that fills wrinkle and pores, makes voluminous skin, and contain Peptide Volume Essence in it. I’m not sure what is Peptide Volume Essence but as long as it has essence in it, then I need to try it.
For the shade range, it’s quite disappointing because they only has 3 shades to choose from. Usually CLIO has more than 3 shades so I’m not sure why they decided to only make this cushion in 3 shades only. There’s almost no deep and fair shade as the lightest shade is a tad darker than my skin tone and the deepest shade is not dark enough for deep skin tone.
+ Large-sized moisturizing cushion with UV protection(SPF50+ PA+++) for quick and easy base makeup that fills wrinkles, pores, and facial contour to create radiant, voluminous skin.
+ Contains patented Gynostemma Pentaphyllum Leaf Extract for clear and luminescent skin.
+ Five-layered Hyaluronic Acid and peptide volume essence deliver rich hydration care.

CLIO Big Aurora Glowing Cushion 02 Lingerie Review:
The reason they call it as a Big Aurora Glowing Cushion is mainly because of its size. It is pretty huge! I think it’s my first time seeing a cushion as big as this one. It also has 25g of product, twice more than a regular cushion. It doesn’t come with a refill like other CLIO’s cushion but I think it’s pretty understandable because the size alone is already a lot for a cushion product.
In my opinion this cushion is the prettiest out of all cushions that CLIO has thanks to the reflective rose gold lid which makes it looks more luxurious but it’s easy to get dirty because of fingerprints. It’s not as heavy as I thought it would be because it’s made from a plastic and on the inside you will find a huge mirror along with a huge puff as well.
The puff is really different from a regular air puff. On air puff, usually you will see blue part and it feels quite bouncy on the skin and it also spreads the product nicely on the skin but on this puff, it’s hard to hold because you have to insert your fingers into the upper part of the puff (a bit similar to a pocket) to hold it.
It is bouncy and soft on the skin but I find it won’t apply the product as nice as a regular air puff. I think it absorbs a lot of product instead. Because the puff is not satisfying, at least for me, I use a beauty sponge to apply the product. It helps the product to spread better.
I got mine in the lightest shade, 02 Lingerie and it’s a little bit too dark for my skin tone. This shade has more pink tone so I would recommend it if you have cool undertone. If you have fair skin like I do (or if you always use lightest shade in every foundations) then you will find this shade doesn’t brighten your complexion at all. If you want something brightening, use a tone up cream or primer before applying this cushion.
The actual product is not too thick, feel lightweight, and easy to blend. The texture feels like a lotion actually but on my face it’s like I wear nothing. It doesn’t have good coverage but I don’t mind because it tones down my redness pretty well but if you have severe acne scars or zits, it won’t cover those imperfections.
It doesn’t clog my pores and it doesn’t emphasis my skin texture too so it’s a great cushion if you have rough and textured skin like I do. I think it’s more like a tinted moisturizer than a cushion foundation because on how it performs on the skin but I really like it, it’s perfect if you want to wear light makeup.
The finish is dewy, similar to the Etude’s Skin Glow Cushion and on my oily-combination skin, it looks more dewy. On dry skin the finish may look different though so please note that in mind. Even though my skin is oily, I like the finish because it makes my skin looks more healthy and it gives a ‘glow from within’ effect. The good thing is it doesn’t make my skin produce more sebum than it normally would so usually I only set it with a powder and I’m good to go.
The lasting power also not bad at all. It starts to fade after 5 hours but it fades evenly and not patchy like other cushions I’ve tried before. Thanks to its light coverage, even though it starts fading it won’t be too noticeable. On me, it starts wearing off from the jaw area to my cheek and nose and since I only have several light dark spots on those areas, I didn’t touch up or reapply it.
I’m satisfied with how this cushion performing on my skin especially because the price is pretty expensive. It is really worth the price and I think it would be a good investment if you want a light, long lasting, and good cushion for daily uses. This cushion definitely will be put in my favorite cushion list!
