[REVIEW] COSRX AC Collection Calming Liquid Mild

COSRX AC Collection Calming Liquid Mild Review:

Recently COSRX released a new range of skincare products called the AC Collection for acne-prone skin and this seem pretty good to be true. As someone who has always been combating with acne-prone skin, this seem like a godsend. With a name like “Calming Liquid Mild”, this particular product stood out to me from the Cosrx AC Collection.

Not only that, since I was also looking to replace my previous toner that is COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner. I was searching for something that would be more moisturizing. Before purchasing, I usually do some online research to find out more about the ingredients and check if it is appropriate for my skin type. Did this product live up to my expectations? Here is my review on the Calming Liquid Mild toner.

+ Alcohol-free, new and gentler version of the Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol for sensitive acne-prone skin type

+ Formulated with 85% of green tea, centella asiatica, and is a mildly prescribed product that removes unnecessary keratin, sebum as well as soothes and calm irritated skin

+ COSRX’s unique Centella Complex, CentellAC-RX formula, is optimize with the efficiency of natural Centella Asiatica, which not only treats acne, but also heals damaged skin

Volume: 125ml

My skin type: Oily, acne-prone, combo with slight dry patches especially on nose area.

COSRX AC Collection Calming Liquid Mild Review:

The bottle was packaged in a plain, white minimal box with the signature COSRX red text on it, similar to the Calming Foam Cleanser which I reviewed previously. It comes in a 125ml opaque bottle with a twist-type cap. I prefer a dispensing-type of cap like the Natural BHA Skin Returning Emulsion. Also I didn’t really like how that the amount of toner is really low for a hefty price. (I was hoping it would come in a 150ml bottle like the previous toner).

The liquid inside the bottle is clear and transparent in color. As this is a daily toner, I usually use this in my morning skin routine. I like the fact that it absorbs pretty quickly into the skin after you pat it onto your face. You also don’t need that much of the product since a little is enough to cover the entire face.

But due to the nozzle of the bottle, it might be hard to pour out an appropriate amount. Sometimes I pour out too much by accident. The absorption is quick, hence making applying sunscreen easier. Perfect when you’re running late as well haha.

Three weeks plus into using this toner, and I’m enjoying it. The smell is almost identical to the Calming Foam Cleanser whereas the tea tree scent being less prominent in the toner. According to skincarisma’s analysis, this toner is great for dry and oily prone skin types.

Not only that, one of its claims is that this toner is a new and gentler version of the Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol for sensitive acne-prone skin type. But since tea tree is listed in the ingredients and from research, sensitive skin types might get irritated due to this ingredient.

This was definitely a moisturizing toner compared to the AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment toner. The toner was effective in helping to calm the redness I had from breakouts and hormonal acne. People with dry skin will enjoy using this toner as it helped to make my nose area less flaky and drying.

Will I repurchase? Definitely! It lived up to my expectations as a moisturizing and acne combating toner. I’m just disappointed that they don’t have a bigger bottle. Hope Cosrx releases a 150ml version since I feel that the 125ml version of it is slightly pricey.
