[REVIEW] Cosrx Centella Blemish Ampule

COSRX Centella Blemish Ampule Review:

Yes. I pretty much love to see centella in an ingredients list. Somehow, I always have that personal and non-objective feeling that it is all about wonder plant. Herb that can heal all my skin issues and God knows there are few.

Tiger grass, as it is called, promises to soothe, calm the inflammation and strengthen skin barrier. So no wonder my cherished K-brand COSRX came up with the whole line of centella products. This one is Centella Blemish Ampule – little centella bomb to fight blemishes.

From the official website:

Centella Blemish Ampule contains 85% Centella Asiatica Leaf Water, and Centella Asiatica Extract which prevent further breakouts by normalizing sebum production and maintaining natural skin barrier. It’s suitable for sensitive skin.

Centella Asiatica Leaf Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betaine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Allantoin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Centella Asiatica Extract Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex, Carbomer, Hydroxyethylcellulose

COSRX Centella Blemish Ampule Review:

This little ampoule is only 20 ml of green, transparent, viscous liquid ampoule in nice, simple glass bottle with the pipette dropper. It is simple to use, doesn’t spill and the one pipette is just enough for one usage.

Ampoule itself has no fragrance, no sticky feeling, no cons on that side. It leaves skin soft and somewhat hydrated. Doesn’t pill in the routine and is getting along with pretty much everything in skin care.

Although it is supposed to be only spot treatment, I like to use it overall face. To get even more from it I like to mix it with various boosters and serums.

Ingredients list is pretty much simple, but not naïve. 84,84% of centella leaf water, centella extract, allantoin (skin protectant), arginine (skin conditioning amino acid), sodium hyaluronate (moisturizer) and other players on the scene as humectants (betaine), anti-oxidant and green colouring (Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex), sufractant (PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil) thickening agent (Hydroxyethylcellulose).

All there to clear up skin, prevent overproduction of sebum without disrupting skin barrier. OK, in theory this might be wonder product. But in reality, it somehow lacks that wonder part. On my sensitive, not oily skin it really doesn’t show its potential, but there are other things to work with on my skin, such as blemishes or rosacea flare-ups that can be tough cookie to eat.

It does soothe a little, but that’s not even close to what my other centella products of other brands do. So disappointing. BUT, I here many praises for this ampoule from the girls with oily skin types that claim it really helped with daily shine and as acne treatment. I wouldn’t know about that personally, as my skin is on normal (but corrupted) side of spectrum but I always, always emphasize YMMV – Your Mileage May Vary.

No, I will not repurchase this one. It is somehow more appropriate to a younger skin, with overproduction of sebum combating youth problems. For me is more suitable something with overall skin conditioning features, with a true kick.
