Volume: 150 ml / 5.07 fl.oz.

How to use:

After cleansing, spray the toner onto a cotton pad and gently wipe onto face, avoiding the eye and mouth area. Use as a mist to freshen up throughout the day.

I also use it as I use any mineral water spritz:

  • to set the makeup – use it as mist and spray it all over face from at least 40 cm distance,
  • to drench the sodium hyaluronate products to prevent skin from drying – spray it all over face liberally,
  • to add more hydration boost, mix it with other hydrating toners and use it as hydrating mist throughout the day, on travels or beach.

My Skin Type: Sensitive, rosacea, aging

This centella toner is colourless, odourless watery liquid that comes in 150 ml plastic spray bottle of typical COSRX design for toners.

COSRX Centella Water Alcohol-Free Toner Review

When I was buying this toner for the first time, I refrained a bit from any expectations because I have had read so many negative or meh reviews that I thought “OMG, let’s just see what happens with this one”. I suppose everyone held on to the word toner in very name of this product meaning it was supposed to tone skin, balance skin ph after cleanse, hydrate and prepare skin for further skin care steps. But it won’t.

At least not as other toners that are supposed to be toners. Nor it will replenish skin moisture by itself. I admit that this is not this product’s forte. I tend to understand it as I understand my other mineral water sprays and on that field is better than most of them.

After all, mineral water is 82% of its content. 10% is centella leaf water and there you go – you have great all around fun mineral water, centella healing mist. I couldn’t ask for more of the daily spritz. I have been using mineral waters (La Roche Posay, Avene, Uriage) since Y2K, so I like to believe I am qualified to say a word or two about them.

As I already said, I use this (I can’t even say toner, so I will furthermore address it as mist) mist on so many different ways. I set makeup with it, I mix it with other hydrating toners (e.g. Kohaku Hada Moist Lotion in 50-50% ratio) to get the hydration boost throughout the day.

It is especially convenient when travelling or on beach. Just a spritz and you are set. Skin is moisturized and ready for any challenge.

It has slightly acidic pH around 6 (as can be seen in the photo). I took the pH test and it turned out pretty much OK. To extremely sensitive skins this pH is just about perfect. There is where my skin fits and where I find it better than most mineral water sprays.

My skin loves this one. It is not a miracle worker, but is something I can’t be without. Mineral water sprays are a must in my life for keeping my skin concerns at bay.

Yes, I will repurchase it. I have already done it twice. One can never have enough sprays with mineral water. It is almost as it is not cosmetics, it is home must have.

  1. Thanks. I think this would be perfect for me, in your ‘repurposed’ use. Decant a small spray got the car or work bag, and one in the fridge! Already use the aha/bha toner, HG status. Also the bha blackhead liquid, snail products, and a few others that have needed a cut back, since I started differin. Cosrx is elegant in the mathematical sense. Few, effective ingredients that you understand the target and can judge the efficacy. If you have as many ‘reactivities’ as I do, it is as important to sniff out the culprits, as it is to find beneficial ingredients. Just love Cosrx. I had looked into diying my own spritz, when this was right under my nose! Great review.
