[REVIEW] Cosrx Mela 14 White Ampule

Cosrx Mela 14 White Ampule Review:

I am suffering from an acne prone skin that leads to acne scaring. If I get a pimple, I will get panic and use every product that I know to help treating my acne, from the very first step of my skincare routine I always clean my face thoroughly and keeping my face hydrated while treating my acne. After my acne is treated, there’s a chance that I will get an acne scar even when I don’t pick the pimples, from a zit, pustule acne, or a cysts(this type bother me A LOT) there’s a chance from leaving me an acne scars.

So I want to try this ampoule from COSRX from what I read is targeted to lighten any hyperpigmentation or acne scars. COSRX is a popular brand among k-beauty bloggers, their products are always on a hot topic, raved by everyone who suffered from skin problems and sensitivenes. COSRX always bring their products to minimum usage of ingredients, and only use the ingredients that is actually needed to heal skin problems without adding unnecessary things in their product, keeping it minimalist in ingredients.

I am also the one who is suffered from skin problems, so I need to try one of their product to help fixing my skin. I bought this ampoule for around $20 on local online shop, not so expensive I think as there are lot of ampoules that more expensive than this.

On it’s official website they say “A gel-type ampule effectively evens skin tone, leaving you with a clear skin. It’s suitable for all skin types.

And on its box it says “A Mela 14 White Ampoule that helps visibly reduce dark spots and discolorations while preventing them from reappearing. A powerfull concentrate designed to naturally even skintone and deliver healthy looking radiance

Cosrx Mela 14 White Ampule Review:

I am so excited on the day that I received this. It comes with a sturdy box that is so shipping friendly, it can protect the product from receiving harsh crash. The bottle itself is made of a glass feels a little bit heavy, with a glass dropper. I also found that this comes with another outer cap and gives the dropper screw part extra protection when you travel to keep the lid closed and steady.

The ampule is transparent with a watery gel texture, a little bit thicker than the Natural Pacific Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence. This also fragrance free, I only smell a little bit faint of unknown scent, maybe it is from one of the ingredients scent that can’t be avoided.

When it was applied, this product needs 3 minutes or more to sink into my skin perfectly but it depends how much product you put on your face. Usually I put about full dropper for full face application. It feel a little bit sticky immediately after applying and my skin felt supple for a few seconds because the texture is a little bit heavier.

After using it for about a month I almost finished the bottle. I noticed that it helped with my acne scars to fade away, but not in a significant way. My skin did not lighten as it is claimed but made my skin moist.

But I was bothered by the way it’s applied on my skin — sometimes as I tap-tap it I noticed it turns into a white milky liquid like a foamy soap. I don’t know if it is the reaction that I didn’t clean my skin facial cleanser perfectly or the reaction of my toner, because I use it right after I use my toner.

When this happens, I immediately wash it off as it bothered me and re-apply it again. I think that it such a waste of product, and I think I won’t repurchase this ever again. Maybe other people will like it but for me, I don’t like it that much.

So yeah this product is a little bit disappointing as the hype is everywhere about Cosrx products. Not all of their products will work for me and maybe there’s someone who love all of their products. It all comes back on our preferences and our skin reaction.

Thank you for reading and see you in another review byee!

  1. Alcohol as 4th ingrediënt, no thank you! Especially if you have dry skin, avoid al drying alcohols. There are much better products for brightning. Garden of Wisdom serums i really love are; Niacinamide serum , Arbutin with Konjac serum, Azelaic acid 10% serum and Vit C serum. Plain INCI yet very affectiv!
