Cosrx X Hanbyul Hydrogel Very Simple Pack was purchased by Cosmeperks
I will come right out and say it: I had no idea who Hanbyul was until I heard of this product. But I must say I did notice her around more after this! Anyway, I have been dying to try some Cosrx product that comes in these recipients (this pack, the pads, anything) simply because for some reason I really like the box.
Anyway, I have been masking almost once a day, and then I see this cute product that makes it seem so much easier to mask while doing other stuff without it falling off or dripping.
It’s an innovative daily hydrogel mask which helps provide moisture on dry area.

Cosrx X Hanbyul Hydrogel Very Simple Pack Review:
First things first, I said I wanted to try a product of Cosrx with this package and let’s face it, since mint is my favorite color I couldn’t have been luckier when I was asked to try this for CosmePerks.
Another “first thing” the ingredient list is pretty clean, but then it has Chondrus Crispus Powder which is not rated, and I can forgive. But adding Citrus Grandis Seed Extract which is at level 3 for fragrance and astringency (something that cleans and tightens the pores) honestly I don’t think is needed in this mask – not if everything else is perfectly green. And good hydration can plump your pores and thus they appear closed, so this is unnecessary.
Let’s move on!
There is this cute detail on the lid, the shiny letters shine in a range of mints and purples, but in a certain angle it becomes the exact same grey as the lines on the lid. I thought I should mention it since I complained about shiny letters in other instances.
This is a throw back to when I first opened it. It was easy to open and there is a lot of essence on the inside. As soon as I opened it the scent invaded my nose – it’s a soft scent of citrus which is not bitter so it smells very fresh and pleasant.
A truly nice scent! (I still don’t think you should ruin a green number list just because you want to add scent, but in Korea things without scent aren’t very popular).
They look like cute little hydrogel masks, aren’t these pads adorable?
I had to swatch it right away. It’s a photo from that day, because I want to use as much essence as I can on my face and not on my arm, but you’ll see later on the skin too.
The liquid absorbs fast and at first it feels a little sticky after absorption but that feeling goes away fast. The scent only lasts until the essence is absorbed, since it’s a weak scent.
The stickiness exists on the face too, but I swear it goes away within 10 seconds after absorption – so short I considered not even mentioning it at all. But since we should pat the essence until it absorbs…
You take the small tweezers and apply the circles on your face. The circles are big so they can fit the cheeks and forehead. But since I don’t like having stuff too close to my hairline I often cut a circle in half and apply it like in this photo.
Let’s talk a little about my failed attempts before.
First I applied it after the toner and left it on for 30 minutes. Well, that nullified the toner’s hydration and made my skin feel hurt and undernourished. My skin is very sensitive to long exposure without strong hydration and at least a little moisture.
So, after that I tried 30 minutes without toner, and toner after. Still uncomfortable but less bad. In both cases my skin ended up feeling dehydrated even if it didn’t look so.
This mask’s time and order needs to be custom fit for each individual.
Which in my case means 10 minutes of masking and being the first step after cleansing!
Here are the results of 10 minutes of masking (right) and when I just spread the essence on the skin before the toner (middle). There is a lot of essence in the pack and the essence is good – so when I don’t have 10 minutes I use just the essence.
After 10 minutes of masking (and even after just applying the essence, although of course in a smaller intensity) my skin looks and feels hydrated, and it is something that makes a big difference from the days I don’t use the mask.
In my case, my skin only gets really “mad” in the evening, after being exposed to all sorts of dirt and aggressions, and in the morning it’s in a zen state, so this pack replaces any mask that I could do in the morning (and helps me stay hydrated during the day), and is more effective than any wash off mask I have used.
The patches don’t fall from the cheeks and forehead no matter what I do, so they are amazing for morning masking. 10 minutes for my skin gives hydration and cooling, and the hydrogel patches accentuate the cooling and soothe my skin. They also reduce sebum during the day.
Honestly, I don’t know why my skin gets so red after this mask, at night. But it goes away after applying soothing cream or doing the rest of my skin care. It doesn’t hurt either, unless I exfoliate before. I use it (except for the photos above) only in the morning when my skin isn’t feeling particularly sensitive and it doesn’t get red.
So, find your right timing and these babies can be your new best friends if you like morning masking!
I really like it and think that anyone can use it at any time of the day. I prefer it in the morning because it saves time in my routine, and because my skin isn’t stressed from pollution so it doesn’t get red like in the photo.
Because of the redness I must deduct a point and give it a 4/5, but it’s an amazingly practical item, and I think oily and acne skins would benefit from this pack more than from most mask sheets. Maybe sensitive skins should stay away from it, but I can’t know for sure since I don’t know why it makes my skin red.
