Dr.G Aquasis Water Vital Sleeping Mask Review:
I .was on the hunt for another sleeping mask ever since I finished using my Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. As this brand was having sale, I decided to give it a try and see what it has to offer. This was my first time hearing of this brand and after looking up online, I found that Dr. G originated from South Korea and was developed by Dr. Ahn Gun-Young, the founder of Gowoonsesang, which is the number one dermatology centre in South Korea.

Dr.G Aquasis Water Vital Sleeping Mask Review:
The ingredients listed are all relatively safe, probably with the exception of the fragrance. Those who are sensitive to fragrance might probably want to take note. The main ingredients are hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and aloe vera.
Hyaluronic acid locks moisture in the skin and smooths appearance of wrinkles, niacinamide brightens the skin while aloe vera hydrates and soothes the skin.
The design was very minimalistic as it came in a blue wide plastic tub with a white twist-open cap. A spatula was also provided for hygiene purposes.
The fragrance was very light and calming and it actually reminded me of a lavender scent. As I do not like products with a strong fragrance, this was ideal for me.
It has a light texture and a gel-like consistency. After application, there is a cooling sensation and it was very refreshing. It also does not leave the skin feeling tacky as it is very quickly absorbed into the face.
I use it at the last step of my skincare routine every night. Sometimes I skip my moisturizer and apply this straight away. I also like to mix it with a few drops of my Kiehls’ Midnight Recovery Concentrate and I always wake up to plump and hydrated skin. If you do not like to apply too many products on your face, this sleeping mask can be replaced as your moisturizer as well.
The recommend usage is 2-3 times per week but I use it on a daily basis as I sleep in an air-conditioned room and my skin can get dehydrated easily. I brought this with me when I traveled to US and Canada. It was perfect during winter for my normal/combination skin and my skin did not peel even once. However, for those with drier skin, you might want to find something that is more hydrating.
The brightening effect was not very obvious despite having niacinamide as one of their main ingredients so if you are looking for a mask with brightening effects, then this is not for you. The product also did not appear to have any effect on my fine lines or wrinkles despite its claims to do so.
Overall, this sleeping mask does a pretty good job at hydration. It is also effective in soothing your skin after a long day out. I will definitely repurchase this as this is a nice product to add to at the end of your skincare routine since it calms my skin and it gives me a well-rested appearance every morning.
This is very similar to the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask but it is a more affordable alternative and definitely does not lack in its moisturizing abilities. It is worth is value as a little goes a long well. I only finished the entire tub after 6 months, and that was with consistent usage as I apply it almost every night.
As previously mentioned, my first experience with Dr G. was undoubtedly a pleasant one and I will definitely look forward to trying out future products from this brand!
