Dr.Jart+ Shake & Shot Shaking Rubber Luminous Shot Mask was purchased by Cosmeperks.
Dr.Jart has been becoming bigger, and even though it is considered a relatively expensive brand most people swear by its quality and they still do have a bunch of affordable products. Their newest product is a modeling mask that comes in the cutest container shaped like a smoothie cup!
It comes in four flavors that have four different colors. Since I always choose hydration I decided to go for the one that seemed to have the least of that, just for a change! I got the Luminous shot (as you probably already read in the title) and so other than pretty skin I have no expectations to begin my review with!
Brightening and tone up care.
You don’t have to mix this product, just shake it! There are no unmixed powders since the mask is made out of a gel type and an ampoule type. You don’t have to prepare any tools as even the spatula for application is provided.

-When it turns into a cream, open the cap and apply evenly over the face, except for the eyes and mouth, using the provided spatula.
-After about 15 to 20 minutes, remove the solidified mask. Lightly wipe the residue and finish with basic skin care.
-Use immediately after mixing as the mask begins to harden within 2 ~ 3 minutes after mixing the 1st and 2nd product.

Dr.Jart+ Shake & Shot Shaking Rubber Luminous Shot Mask Review:
As usual there will be a walkthrough of the packaging before even starting the mask – but this one really deserves it! I personally think these packs are adorable, the little straw and all!
But some people think it’s a little creepy. That aside, I will let you know that I really like it and will keep the cup for using later as a painting cup!
Small detail. Think of it as a literal artistic representation of the mask? The two liquids with two different colors, the baby, and the straw!
When I saw the photos I thought it was about the size of a take-out americano, but obviously I was wrong. It’s a cuter size! It’s also a little big, in my opinion, for the amount of product, but to shake it and to keep the spatula it’s the minimum accepted size I guess.
Here are all the items that come included in the pack. So, a cup, a lid, a spatula, gel pack (white) and an ampoule (orange).
The spatula is a little small (and thin) on the handle to be completely comfortable, mainly because it’s just the size of the cup and my fingers had to grip hard to be able to scrape the mask off the cup after it was mixed.
But for shorter types of mask, or others types, it seems very comfortable and I will keep it for future masks – especially for the ones that don’t come with one.
Package 1 (white) didn’t really open in a friendly manner, the package is a little thicker than the orange pack, but the orange pack opened like a beauty.
Gel, ampoule, and after mixed. You can see a very slight shade of pink in the final mix and it really exists, even if it doesn’t show while on the face and all.
This is how you should shake it (just in case my explanation wasn’t clear enough).
At the time I thought of just mixing it with the spatula but I thought since it’s my first of these masks that I really should try and do it properly, as they say and as they brag (they almost brag). I swear next time I’ll mix with the spatula.
There is enough product in the cup for the whole face but I still don’t like having to clean my finger (dirty through the mouth hole), nor the splatters that come out when I open the cup. And I particularly dislike the fact that the spatula gets dirty by touching around the walls of the cup. So, shaking is really not for me!
Shake shaking mixed the two liquids REALLY fast, only a few shakes, but I still would rather use the traditional mixing methods.
Anyway, at this point I sniffed so hard that I could feel the very (tremendously) light scent it has. But it’s so light that to me it sort of smelled like citrus cookies (like lemon cookies or such) but I can’t even be sure of that. It’s light and gentle, not aggressive at all.
You can see the mask slid down a little, but as they promise it solidifies fast so it didn’t drip even once while I was waiting for it to dry. I swear, it stopped moving at all within 5 minutes! Soo dripping, also no lumps because, as they said, there is no powder. On these points it is really comfortable.
It got completely solid a little before the 15 minutes were up, but even while I removing it the mask always felt moist and damp even if it physically isn’t! Out of curiosity I controlled how long it takes for the leftovers on the cup to dry and by the time mine was dry this one still melted on my fingers! So I guess our skin really absorbs the moisture (water) from the mask.
I removed the mask really easily and in one piece with no trouble at all, but the mask is so soft that it broke when I tried to take the picture. I guess it couldn’t take its own weight.
Other than removing it in one piece it also left almost no residues (just a little under the chin and on the eyebrows) which was really comfortable.
After using the mask the skin felt beautiful, not tight nor tugged but instead it felt firm and happy. And a little hydrated too, even though it wasn’t part of its promises. The hydration didn’t last forever, I would say for two or three hours. But the beauty part of the mask, the lively effect, lasted the whole day, always with a firm skin.
So, was it worth it? For me, I would say this specific one isn’t worth it – I feel of course that brightening is pretty but our faces always get a little dull during the day and, even though it happened less, my skin still looked tired at night. As a brightening product I don’t think it’s the best.
But it was a soft mask, didn’t hurt at all, didn’t burn, so I am very interested in trying the ones for elasticity and hydration, which supposedly will make me feel “shiny and new” instead of making me look shiny and new like this one.
