[REVIEW+SWATCHES] Etude House Colorful Tattoo Tint PK002 Naughty Hipster

Etude House Colorful Tattoo Tint PK002 Naughty Hipster Review:

Not too long after the release of Colorful Vivid Tint, Etude has finally launched another lip tint, the Colorful Tattoo Tint. I’m not sure about the difference between those two but judging by the name, I think the Tattoo one would last longer on the lips. I like how the Colorful Vivid Tint performed on my lips but sadly, it’s not long lasting so I really hope this one will stay longer (and better) on me.

The price is quite affordable, as expected from Etude House. It won’t be a burden for your wallet and the price is a bit cheaper than the Colorful Vivid Tint but both have 10 shades. The difference is the Colorful Tattoo has more variant in colors while the Colorful Vivid only has pinks, corals, and reds. I’m happy with the shade range and like usual, I got the most neutral shade from the range.

Etude House Colorful Tattoo Tint PK002 Naughty Hipster Review:

When I saw the tint for the first time, I can’t help but compare it with the Colorful Vivid one because they have very similar packaging, both in size and shape with different color. Actually I hope Etude can improve because they always make product in similar packaging (and sometimes it can confuse people too). To be honest I kinda miss the time where Etude makes a very unique or very ‘different’ packaging from the rest of other Korean beauty brands.

But the good thing from this packaging is it’s very easy to store and won’t need too much space on your makeup pouch. You can guess the color inside by looking at the ‘swatch’ color on the bottle but some of you maybe will find it annoying because you have to check the bottle one by one.

It has doe-foot applicator like any other tints would and the applicator feels nice and makes it easy to apply the tint on my lips. It picks up enough product and it’s not too stiff or too flexible so I find it’s perfect for me. The thing I notice is that you need to apply the tint for several times because the applicator can drag the tint and leave some spot patchy.

I got myself the tint in shade PK002 Naughty Hipster. Based on Etude’s website, it’s a brownish pink shade but on me, the shade looks like a mute coral color. Actually this shade is exactly the same as the one I got from the Colorful Vivid. Etude also claims that this is a cool mute tone shade that perfect for summer but for me, it’s more suitable for autumn.

For reference, I have fair skin tone with neutral – yellow undertone so if you have similar complexion to me, big chance you will find this shade true to my description.

It has good pigmentation and nice sweet scent but the finish is not semi-velvet like Etude claim. It’s more like a creamy lip cream with a hint of sheen. On the lips it will set down and lose its shine after a few minutes but it’s not semi-velvet or matte at all. If I have to compare, it has more creamy finish than the Colorful Vivid, it’s not transferproof and it will stain anything your lips touch. I’m not sure why they even say it has velvet finish while it’s far from it.

But surprisingly, I love how the tint performs on my lips! Because of its creamy texture, it feels soft, smooth and very comfortable. I have dry lips but it won’t accentuate the dryness and I think it’s an important thing for a lip tint to feel good even on dry lips. It doesn’t feel sticky or slippery either so it’s definitely will get a plus point from me.

As for the performance, it does last longer indeed but I have to say for a ‘Tattoo’ tint, it doesn’t last as long as I expect. It lasts for 4 hours without eating and with eating (especially greasy foods), it will fade right away. It doesn’t leave stain at all so I have to re-apply the tint again every time I finish eating. It fades evenly though so you don’t have to worry if your lips will look like a mess after it fading.

I think it’s a beautiful lip tint with average lasting power and some good qualities. I love how it feels on my lips and if you have dry lips, I will recommend this tint to try as it’s not too expensive and easy to find anywhere. The shade range also satisfying, at least for me. If only it lasts longer it will be in my favorite lip tint list.
