[REVIEW] Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint Ice Cream RD307 & OR205

Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint Ice Cream RD307 Watermelon Red & OR205 Apricot Red Review:

I’ve been a fan of Korean beauty products for almost 10 years and I know how popular lip tints are. I have to admit that I’m not the biggest fan of lip tints. I tried a few different lip tints before and for me they were not pigmented enough, feels dry, and not long-lasting on the lips. I prefer a matte liquid lipstick or an original lipstick, not only because they do stay all day but they also really pigmented.

But then I saw Etude House’s official instagram posted a picture of ice cream shaped lip tints and they were so cute I can’t resist! They have 6 shades in the collection but recently they added 4 more shades. The price is really affordable as well so I decided to get 2 of them. I didn’t have any lip tint at that time so I guessed it was a good time to give them another chance.

Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint Ice Cream RD307 Watermelon Red & OR205 Apricot Red Review:

RD307 is a watermelon red shade (and the packaging color is red & green, just like a watermelon). It’s a warm red tone and I think it will look great on people with fair to medium skin tone.

Because it has a warm undertone, it’s really good for people who wants to use a red lipstick for daily activities. I really like the shade! I’m not someone who looks good in blue-based red lipstick so this kind of red shade matches me so well.

OR205 is a an apricot red, based on Etude’s description on their website but honestly I don’t see anything red from this shade. It looks more peachy than red so maybe that’s what they mean by apricot red.

The applicator is a tear-shaped doe foot and it did a good job in spreading the color on my lips. It’s flexible and easy to use, it also carries enough product for one time application (even though I have to dip it again because I need more than one layer).

The color is pretty but the pigmentation is more sheer than the RD307 one. I need to apply it more than 2 layers to get some color on my lips but even after several more layers the color still look sheer. My lips are not pigmented so I’m quite surprised it doesn’t show up well on me. If you have pigmented lips, I’d suggest you to try RD307 instead or try other colors.

The packaging is quite bulky though so I have a hard time to find place to store them because they don’t fit in my lipstick storage.

Unlike other lip tints I had tried before, these tints doesn’t feel dry at all! I’m so impressed it doesn’t emphasis the dryness on my lips. Even after a few hours it still feel good and it’s rare for me to find a lip tint that feel this good!

But I’m a little bit disappointed with their lasting power. The RD307 stays on my lips only for 3 hours even when I didn’t eat or drink anything and the OR205 one stay even less than 3 hours.

I don’t think I’ll buy it again because the pigmentation and lasting power is not that good. I prefer something more pigmented and more long lasting. The main reason I bought these are only because of the packaging.

The packaging is so cute! It’s really typical Etude house and I would recommend it for teenagers or students because of the affordable prices and natural color so they can still buy it and wear it to school. I also recommend it for people with dry lips since it doesn’t emphasis any dry parts.
