[REVIEW] Etude House Dr. Ampoule Dual Mask Sheet Age Care

Etude House Dr. Ampoule Dual Mask Sheet Age Care Review:

On my quest for propolis and honey based products I saw this mask. To be quite honest, I didn’t even check the ingredient list at the store and since it was on promotion I simply grabbed it and took it home! Of course, I checked the ingredients before using – and it doesn’t contain any of the honey goodness I wanted but it has snail secretion and ginseng extract.

Normally I wouldn’t use something with snail but I had already bought it so what the heck. It has two parts – a first step that’s an essence and a second step that’s the mask sheet itself. And it promises to take care of one of my biggest skin concerns: aging. So of course, I got it, when it was at a discounted price.

Claims:

– Anti-aging mask that gives elasticity to the skin and makes the skin texture more refined while giving it moisture.

Well, this is always an exciting moment. Separating the steps and laying it out on the table – I love making a line on the table with my skincare by order of usage and then just apply it without paying attention to what I’m doing.

Both parts of the package open easily and without any mess except for a small splatter of step 2.

Step 1 smells like something… but nothing good or bad and not a strong scent at all. So, to put it short, completely unidentifiable.

On the skin at first glance it looks a little tacky, but it melts easily, it’s very light and spreads and absorbs well.

I applied two layers to my whole face and decided to stop because I don’t want to oversaturate my skin and cause step 2 to be ineffective. There is more serum leftover in the pouch, though, which can be nice to use on my next skincare routine, since it makes my skin look good.

The mask is thin and elastic, and has amazing adherence, so the fit can be adapted to most face shapes. Except in my case it lifts on my nose, so I need the help of my glasses to keep that part of the mask down. After that the fit was good even for my big European nose.

All the air between the skin and the mask (those tiny air bubbles) can be rid of by sliding your finger from the center of your face outwards, and quickly without big effort everything will become perfect. The adherence is impeccable even if you don’t do this.

The essence of the mask is like a liquid gel, except compared to the first one this one does not only look a little tacky, it also feels a little tacky on the skin.

It spreads easily but it needs more time to absorb than step 1, and on the arm test it also feels just a little sticky – although the skin looks beautiful.

I would like to tell you about the scent, but I have no idea what it smells like. It’s a little sweet, but nothing I can identify. I can tell you, however, it’s not anything that would bother anyone.

The mask stayed moist until the end, so I’m sure those who like to keep the masks longer than the brand’s recommended time will enjoy quite some more time with this mask.

When I removed the mask my skin was soft and beautiful, and completely full of essence. It’s definitely a good mask in its effect, my skin looks AND feels good. But I must say by comparison that while wearing the Etude House Manuka Honey Mask my skin felt better, the aftermath of this one is better for my anti-aging goal and justifies the price difference. I completely recommend it for everyone who does not have oily skin and aims to make their skin look younger.

The softness of my skin lasted the whole day and my makeup on top of it looked so dewy and young!

But if you mask for the feeling and not for the result there are definitely better (or cheaper) masks out there. For anti-aging this one is a good one.
