[REVIEW] Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara 01 Black

Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara 01 Black Review:

I finished my previous mascara and although I have another one I use them so much that having two on the loop gives me different looks rather than pressure to finish them. Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara 01 Black Review:

Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara 01 Black ReviewI must say I love the design. It’s simple, and inexpensive, and looks like a drugstore/supermarket mascara but for some reason I love it. Truly. And I know the reasons for me liking it are silly, but I do like it for those reasons.

Other than that, as soon as I opened it the first time it looked comfortable. The right size, the right thickness to hold. And that got confirmed later when I used it, it feels really comfortable on the hand (unlike my all time favorite mascara) and that makes it easy to use.

This part refers to the top comment, it is very ergonomic.

But the main reason this photo is important is because in the usage method they say to organize the eyelashes with the flat part of the brush. But as you can see, the flat part of the brush is completely full of mascara! Cool when it comes to the amount of product, but it means that we can’t really use it the way they said. Not unless you want a bunch of uncontrollable mascara on the base of your eyelashes… or maybe I just did it wrong.

The color is pretty black. Just… charcoal black. Which is nice.

But you can see that the mascara isn’t evenly distributed in the brush. It has a lump on both the bottom and the tip. Which is fine, you can clean it properly when you pull it out, I do that usually, but I just wanted to show how it comes out right off the package without cleaning or anything.

To clean it I just insert the brush back in and out a few times, it distributes the mascara properly.

First thing I have to say is wow it does curl and fix. For the whole day! It stays the same shape.

But my eyelashes lump together and this mascara doesn’t separate them, no matter how much zigzag I do when I apply.

So here I show the difference between when I apply it directly with the given brush (middle) and when I brush it first with a clean brush. It makes a huge difference to me.

This mascara doesn’t lengthen or volumize the eyelashes. Not that they promised it would, but I thought I should mention it.

Koreans usually suggest powdering your eyelashes lightly with no sebum powder to enhance length and volume, so if you want to add that ability to a mascara without it, you can give it a try! In my case, my eyebrows are so close to my eyes that I really don’t need extra length.

During the day, as they promised, there was no smudge, which I love! So, they checked in all of their promises!

The point of this photo is to show you my downwards pointing eyelashes. I have a few, and even though they are still pointing slightly down, the mascara is strong enough to flip them up a little by itself. Of course I usually use an eyelash curler for these eyelashes, and then the mascara to actually fix it, of course that happens with this one. But I wanted to show you how strong it is even without a curler.

So, applying just the mascara with a clean brush on the eyelashes and then with the mascara brush: win.

In the end I definitely recommend this mascara, although it is not an inexpensive mascara (for the same price in Europe I can get my favorite) it’s a mascara that is often on promotion, which makes it worth it (my favorite mascara here in Korea is more expensive than in Europe, since it’s a foreign brand) – and if you’re a K-beauty lover I would definitely give this a shot.
