[REVIEW+SWATCHES] Etude House Quick & Easy Blur Tint 05 Kitchen Salmon

Etude House Quick & Easy Blur Tint 05 Kitchen Salmon Review:

Months ago Etude released a new collection called ‘Quick & Easy’ but for some reason, the collection didn’t show up on their website when I searched about it. Only after a few months later finally Etude put the collections on their website. I’m not sure about it but I heard that Etude wanted to sell it exclusively at first before sell it to public.

In the collection, there are 4 items such as liquid shadows, liquid liner, water mousse tint, and blur tint. I got the Blur Tint just because I really wanted to try it since I read Ana’s Blur Tint review. But to be honest, the shade selection doesn’t look interesting to me since they only has 4 bold shades and 1 neutral shade but my curiosity told me to grab one and try it myself.

The name itself is the one which caught my attention. As a blur tint, I thought it will have a very forgiving formula especially for me who have some dry patches on the lips. Based on Etude’s claim, it has a perfect matte finish so I’m really curious if it will look and feel nice on my lips.

Judging from the packaging itself, I really liked it. It has a sleek gold overall and let’s admit it, it doesn’t look like a product from Etude House at all. On the front part, there’s a thin rectangle shape which shows you the shade inside. It also has a nice weight, feels like something you can find from the high-end brands.

It has a doe-foot applicator with a bit of slanted shape and it distributes the product really nicely on the lips. The tint has a good pigmentation and thanks to that, it spreads smoothly on my lips. The applicator has a quite wide shape so one dip is enough to cover my whole lips.

The thing I notice right after I open it is the scent. It has a weird scent, like a bathroom refresher (at least it does smell like that for me) and I don’t like it. I hope they make it with a floral or sweet scent instead or something that doesn’t smell like a clean bathroom. If you don’t like scented lip product, I don’t think you will like it because the scent is pretty noticeable.

It has 5 shades and of course the one I got is the neutral one, 05 Kitchen Salmon. From their official website, Kitchen Salmon is a warm coral shade and it’s really pretty. It also the most wearable shade among the shade selection.

Unfortunately, I am so disappointed with this shade because in real life, it doesn’t look like a warm coral at all, it looks like coral with white undertone which is the type of shade that I hate. Every lip tint with white undertone doesn’t match my complexion at all. It makes me look much paler.

If you have cool undertone, you may find this shade complement your complexion because of the white tone in it but if you have warm undertone, I guess you won’t like this shade either, just like I do. But I think on deep skin tone, the shade will look beautiful as it can brighten the overall complexion.

The tint has a mousse texture with smooth, velvety finish and I like it. Usually this type of finish is comfortable and doesn’t make my lips feel dry. The finish makes the tint easy to blend and if you love gradient lips, you will love it because it’s very easy to make a gradient lips but sadly, even though it makes my lips feel soft, it does cling to dry patches and make my lips look like a terrible mess after a few minutes! I’ve prepared my lips with a lip balm (as I always did) but for some reason the tint still cling to those areas.

Not only they look dry, the tint also doesn’t last that long. I wear it for about 2 to 3 hours but the color faded already and it left a patchy leftover on my lips.

The good thing is, if I want to re-apply the tint, I don’t have to remove the tint from my lips first because it layers perfectly well. But I think maybe it’s only happen to this shade since I don’t see Ana has a same problem with me. It also doesn’t leave a stain behind so I guess different shade will show different qualities.

Will I recommend it? I won’t recommend this particular shade but maybe the darker shade will look a lot better on the lips. If you have severe dry lips, please stay away from this tint and choose other tint with more moisturizing effect. I do like the texture and how it feels soft but I probably won’t use it anymore because of how it makes my lips look dry as a desert.
