G9SKIN Grapefruit Vita Peeling Pad Review:
Peeling pad has been a trend since early 2017 among skincare brands. Most of the products are claiming that it is a convenient way to save up time as it works as a cleansing, toner and peeling pad at the same time. One of the brand that joining the trend is G9 Skin. This brand is a sister brand of Berrisom that is started around 2016.
This brand pursuing a concept of anti-city pollution skincare where their products contain extracts of 9 good ingredients that will improve skin health which are lotus, ivy, pine sprout, eucalyptus, oregano leaf, linseed, hibiscus petal, chia seed, and green tea. Wow! I believe you come across a product which contain one of the ingredients I mentioned above at least once, right?
As a skin care enthusiast, I always love to try different brands. So, this is my first time using G9 Skin product. I heard several of their products being reviewed and mentioned by beauty bloggers such as the whitening milk cream. But then, this peeling pad appeal to me the most. So let’s jump to review the product!

G9SKIN Grapefruit Vita Peeling Pad Review:
This peeling pad comes in a generous size. Most peeling pads products contain at least up to 70 pads, but this product contains 100 pads! I love it when a product comes in a bulky size even though I will pretty much gamble whether the product is a hit or miss. In the box, it has Korean and English instruction (they also provide their ingredients list in English, thank God!).
The packaging is made from a light plastic with a simple orange decoration which looks good for me. However, there is no English explanation at the back of the packaging. When I opened the lid, I found a seal to keep the product safe from leaking and there you go! You will find a stack of pad soaked in a peeling toner.
You could see from the picture the stack of pad I was talking about. I believe this will last for at least 2 and a half month, or more. I store this peeling pad inside a refrigerator. Since I live in a humid country, I thought if I leave it in my room, the pads will dry faster. Besides, it is nice to have an extra cooling sensation when I use this pad.
The pads are made of thin cotton, you can see the thickness when I pick one of the pads from its stack. It is not as thin as paper but it is half thinner than your usual cotton pad. The pad is also completely soaked up with the toner (which is good!). For the size of the pad, I could say it is smaller than Neogen’s or COSRX’s. But then, I could use only one pad for my whole face also some of area around my body that needs hydration (elbow, feet, heel etc.)
The pad has two sides. The first side is the embossed one and the other side is the smooth one. It is said that the embossed one works as a peeling pad to remove make-up residue, exfoliation and sebum removal. Meanwhile, the smooth one soothe, moisturize and manage as a skincare.
When I swipe it across my face in a lifting motion, I could feel the fresh and cooling sensation (because I store it in my refrigerator). It leaves your skin smooth and moisturized once it dries up.
Moreover, the products claim to work as an ALL IN ONE product. It has AHA (to dissolve dead skin cell), BHA (to decompose dead skin cell) and PHA (to induce keratinization on the skin surface). Usually, after I use it for my entire face, there is still some essence left in the pad.
G9 Skin recommends to use the pad not only for your face, but also some other areas around your body which need hydration and has a lot of dead skin cells (heels, feet, elbow, knee etc.).
I also use it on my feet (after using it on my face) and the result is amazing. I have an area on my feet where it is very dry that the skin can be peeled off, since then, I swipe the pad over it and the surface started to become smoother than before.
From what I experience after using this peeling pad as my night skincare routine for 3 weeks, the pad always managed to show some make up residue even though I already cleanse my face with both micellar water and facial foam.
Even when I stay at home the whole day (which mean I don’t use any make up), it still shows some residue of sebum on my face. It is actually a bit disgusting to see but it is also satisfying at the same time!
For the scent, it is pretty noticeable since the product itself has perfumes in the ingredient list. But then, it smells pretty good for me. It has that citrusy grapefruit scent which is very fresh for me. I usually prefer unscented skincare product but then, I still can tolerate the scent of this peeling pad as it is not disturbing at all.
So this is how my skin looks like after using the product for 2 weeks. It does not look too clear since my camera couldn’t really catch the picture. But, I feel like my skin texture is better, even though it is not that significant.
I usually have whiteheads around my chin, nose and near my lips, but I rarely spot them on my face anymore ever since I am using this peeling pad. When I use my make-up, it looks smoother as well.
I could say that this product is more in a hydrating side rather than the moisturizing one. Usually, moisturizing product will be such a disaster to my oily skin, but this product actually reduces the appearance of sebum on my face.
It does not do incredible change to my enlarged pores though, but at least it reduces the excessive production of sebum.
To sum up, I enjoy using this product. It lives up its claim to take residues out of your face and smoothen it up. But, I do not really see a really huge difference on my face. I use this product at night to cleanse my face thoroughly as a third-step cleanser and exfoliation.
Even though it is said that you could use this pad as a cleansing pad, I do not really recommend this as a first step cleanser. I do not think this pad could really take all of the make-up residue by itself without washing it again.
But then, I like how this product works as a part of my daily skincare routine. I sometimes use this at morning and it really boosts my make-up. I recommend this to people with oily skin as it works nice as a peeling pad (very easy to use and fast, and it actually works to reduce sebum) and people with normal skin as it provides good amount of hydration for your face.
Plus, it comes in a big size which will last for a few months. Great product in a great amount and amazing price (I got this for less than 12 dollars!), why not? 😀
