Goodal Green Tangerine Moist Cream Review:
This product can be considered as a hot topic this season. It’s exactly made for summer, and even outside of summer it can fill your skin with moisture. It is ideal for oily skin, and combination oily skin, not because it dries your skin but because it prevents new sebum formation, which also makes it a great product for all skin types, especially in the summer (humid in Korea). These are all the things I heard about when I first stepped into the store and asked about it.
So, knowing all of this it tingled my Asian Beauty curiosity, and I wanted to have it. I was lucky enough to win a contest, but I was prepared to bring my money forward and simply buy it regardless! Now, after using the product, do I think that would have been a good investment?
Moisturizing cream containing green vitamin moisture from fresh Jeju green tangerines.

Goodal Green Tangerine Moist Cream Review:
I normally wouldn’t show this type of photo, of a partially opened package, however I didn’t find the ingredients anywhere! And then I opened it, deciding to just take a shot in the dark, and there they were. Here they are! On the lid. It’s actually a very nice way to save paper by not adding a separate paper inside, while keeping the design clean and giving all the needed information.
The cream comes with a spatula that, for once, is individually packed. Not all cream spatulas come packed, and I know we can just clean them ourselves before using, but it’s still uncomfortable thinking how many people might have touched that spatula with their dirty or greasy hands, since in the stores you can open the outside box to confirm everything is alright inside.
The spatula itself, as you can see, is a little smaller than most spatulas, which might make it uncomfortable to use when the cream is finishing. However, I do like the spatulas to be a little smaller than most. The simple reason for that is: if I have time to do a routine then I can wash my hands before applying the cream, but if I’m traveling (like, let’s say, inside a train) when you wash your hands only before the first step of skin treatment, then I want to have a spatula that’s smaller to carry around – when traveling we all want the smallest possible.
As expected there’s a protective lid inside. I mentioned once before in another review, I appreciate them. But in this kind of small pots I find them unnecessary, and it hurts my environmental consciousness.
The reason I wanted to show this detail is because the pot is transparent. And then it has another pot inside of it, where the product lies! Sort of like… a thermos, but not for heating! Well, I don’t know if they did this for a specific reason (they could just have left the transparent pot) but I like the design a lot so I decided to show you how it looks.
I caught the counter and the carpet right in the middle, I was going to edit out the black carpet but I thought the photo looked kind of cool. Unrelated, I know, so let’s proceed.
I don’t think the photo shows it well enough, but the cream isn’t white or cream (the color), it’s actually a very very light mint green color. Very light! Or maybe a white color that is so cold it looks green by association with the “green tangerine” title. Regardless, it’s adorable.
The cream melts on the skin so easily my camera wasn’t capturing it, so I went outside and got some sun reflection on it. In the first photo you can see the cream can easily become transparent on the skin (thus my photo problems).
So, as I said the cream melts easily on the skin. It’s very rich and you don’t need a big amount to get your skin hydrated. And if you layer it with more cream then it’s also comfortable for when your skin is dry. I’ve used it on my face, and will give more details later, but I want you to know that on my T zone (oily) I used one thin layer, and on the rest I layered it with another thicker layer. It felt comfortable, which is a difficult thing to achieve with only one cream (usually I would use one cream on the T zone and a different one on the U zone).
The cream absorbs quite quickly, and leaves no oily traces. The scent is that of citrus fruits but not so fresh that it’ll hurt your nose. The cream too is fresh, and feels really light – especially after absorbing. It is supposed to give maximum hydration with minimum oil for oily skins, and although it didn’t do any magic trick on me, I did notice that my sebum production was slightly lower. And the sebum itself was less sticky than usual. I used it normally, with makeup afterwards and the whole shabang, and it was as I said on the two previous sentences. However, when I used it without make up (just sun cream, and my usual sebum powders) the oil production was really reduced. In two hours my nose barely produced any shine at all!
Another important point, is that my skin feels really soft after applying the cream (and you can see it on the last photo too). I have only felt this after using the Nature Republic Olive Cream and the Guerisson Horse Oil Cream, but those two make oily skin produce a lot of sebum very quickly, especially if you apply a thick layer, this one doesn’t. I almost want to use it as a body cream because it’s so soft! Except I’m not rich so obviously I won’t, but you get the drill.
A little after two hours of finalizing my skin care and applying sun cream and anti sebum powder, no shiny looking nose. And then after 5 hours, when you can see some sebum showing, without reapplying and sebum powder in the meanwhile. As you can see, it doesn’t “heal” sebum production problems, but it delays day, and over a few days of using this my skin has become naturally a slower sebum producer, instead of making sebum shine right after the skin care ends, it lets me have a fresh face (and a fresh feeling when it comes to sebum) for a while longer.
I had to test the amount of cream I wanted to use a little, through the course of several days. I figure on the oily parts just a little (a really thin layer) is enough to keep it moisturized, and to avoid sebum. On the drier parts of my skin a thicker amount prevents my skin from drying. The reason for that is this cream is really good for moisturizing oily skin, true, but it’s also a good moisturizer by itself (for non dry skins and for non dry weather).
So, a skin type like mine can play around a little and match it to any time of the year, with the exception of extremely dry seasons (only the winter here, but I wouldn’t use a fresh cream in the winter anyway).
To sum it up, I got two of these creams, and I would like to give one to my mom too, so I might end up getting another one later when I go visit her. I’m not saying it’s a magical product, as I said – it isn’t, but it does help and do good on combination skin, since you can apply it differently on different skin parts. So, for combination skins I would give it 4/5 (I’m still waiting for a miracle product for combination skin), for other skin types I can’t say anything, but according to my experience you should get your hands on a sample!
