Holika Holika Velvet Blanket Tint 01 Cream Rosy was purchased by Cosmeperks.
Korean brands started to release more lip creams, following the liquid lip trend all over the world. They tend to advertise it as ‘Velvet Tint’ or ‘Creamy Tint’ while the actual product is not a tint at all. If you follow Korean beauty trend, then you must’ve seen ton of road-shop brands releasing their own version of liquid lipsticks.
One of them is Holika Holika. They released Velvet Blanket Tint not too long ago and I’m so excited when Nigama offered me to try the product because it’s been in my wish list since the first time I saw it. It’s not a first time for Holika Holika to make a liquid lipstick but actually this time they seem to promote the product really well, I’ve seen a lot of reviews from Korean beauty bloggers all over the internet and YouTube.
They have 6 shades available to choose from and I have to say all the shades are so pretty. The shades are in the neutral side and I think it’s smart for Holika Holika to make these type of shades since these are ‘safe’ shades so everyone will curious and want to try all of the shades including me (I’m a sucker for these shades, it’s hard to choose only 1!).

Holika Holika Velvet Blanket Tint 01 Cream Rosy Review:
This time they put a lot of effort in making the packaging. It comes in a paper box with different color for each shade. The paper box has matte feeling to it and the actual bottle has rubbery texture. In my opinion the packaging feels good and it’s similar to something you will find from high-end brand.
On the outer box they actually embossed the shade’s name! I didn’t see it at the first time but I saw it when I wanted to take a picture of the box.
It has a slanted-shaped doe foot applicator and it works really well in picking up enough product. It also distributes the product evenly on my lips thanks to its flat surface but be careful, if you have small lips like I do, sometimes it can pick too much product and make your lips look more patchy.
If you want to use it to make a gradient lips, wipe off the excess product first so it won’t look too thick and makes it hard to blend.
They have 6 shades and I got mine in shade 01 Cream Rosy. Cream Rosy supposed to be the lightest shade out of those 6 shades but I think it’s only the more pink version of shade 02.
I was hesitating between shade 01 and 02 but on the swatch online, shade 01 looks more natural on the lips and will be a great color for working everyday so in the end I chose this shade.
On my fair and neutral – yellow undertone, the shade looks so different compared to the one they show on the official picture. On me this shade looks warmer, like a dark coral shade with warm undertone. Even my office-mates asked me if I used a coral lipstick that day.
But it’s not too bold though so it’s still safe to use this lip cream for daily activities. I actually love the shade so much because it compliments my complexion really well.
I asked my friends with medium and dark skin tone to try it and the shade looks totally different. On medium skin, the shade looks like a mute rosy color while on darker skin tone it looks like a pale rosy pink shade. So if you have deep skin tone, I will suggest you to choose other shades because this shade can make you look pale and ashy.
As its name, this product has velvet finish with a good pigmentation. When I swatch it on my hand, it feels very smooth and easy to blend. Because it’s so blendable, I only have to smack my lips several times to make a gradient lips.
The texture is pretty soft like a mousse texture and it feels lightweight and comfortable on the lips. Even though it has a velvet finish, it doesn’t make my lips look dry or flaky but turn out I was wrong.
I found this lip cream makes my lips feels a little bit dry after several hours of wearing it. To avoid it you need to wipe off the lip cream on your lips with a tissue gently then re-apply a new layer. This way your lips can look fresh and smooth again but I think it takes too much time and effort so usually I just re-apply it without removing the color underneath.
For its lasting power, I will say it is so-so. It doesn’t last as long as I want it to be but it doesn’t wear off after several hours. Without eating, I find it lasts on my lips for more than 3 to 4 hours and with eating, it will fade right after especially if I eat oily foods or drink with a straw.
Overall I think it’s a good lip product but I’ve seen better. It’s pretty affordable so it’s worth the price but if you are a fan of long lasting lip cream, this one is not for you.
Will I get another shade? I don’t think so, I have other lip creams with more affordable price and better lasting power but I’m sure I will keep using it in the future because I love the shade.
