[REVIEW] Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream

Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream Review:

Have you ever used a product for the first time and thought, “Yup, this is the one.”? As a beauty enthusiast, I always want to try new things so I don’t typically stick to using the same products over and over again (even if they worked well for my skin). And it doesn’t help that there is seemingly an infinite number of newer and better products to try out there.

But once in a while, you fall in love with a product so much that the fear of missing out on newer products suddenly disappears. That’s what I happened when I first used this Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate.

Why? I’ll tell you the reasons in a bit but for now let’s learn more about the brand and some details about the product.
I’ve been seeing products from Illiyoon every now and again but they didn’t really catch my attention enough to buy them. Perhaps that can be attributed to their boring packaging (there are just so many adorable or chic looking products out there!).

Anyway, it was when I saw Kelly Driscoll’s youtube videos where she discussed how much she loves this cream that I decided to try it out for myself. Fortunately, I saw a smaller size on sale in shopee. I got mine for only $2 for a 70ml tube which is such a steal!

According to what I’ve read, Illiyoon is a part of Amore Pacific which is one of the biggest beauty companies in Korea (also owns Mamonde, Laneige, Innisfree, etc). The brand aims to deliver gentle but deeply nourishing products perfect for those which sensitive skin types. In fact, their products can also be used for babies. Since I have a one year old baby, this is a plus point for me.

My skin type: I have oily but dehydrated skin.

Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream Review:

As I’ve said earlier, their packaging is really basic. The product comes in a white tube container with information written in both Korean and English. Despite the packaging being so simple, I have come to appreciate it the more I use it.

I like that it comes in a squeeze tube container instead of a tub which makes it more hygienic. It also doesn’t take a lot of space on my vanity. The fact that they used white plastic also means that it is easier to recycle so yay for the environment.

This doesn’t have a scent to it which aligns with their aim to cater to sensitive skin types since fragrance (whether artificially or naturally derived) can often cause irritations.

Consistency and Feel:

Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream Review

This cream is thick but can be easily spread on the skin. As someone with oily skin, it feels a bit suffocating when freshly applied but after it has absorbed, I find that it delivers just the right amount of occlusive to seal in hydration and moisture on my skin.

The finish is not tacky or sticky as well which I appreciate. I would day that this one had a neutral finish which means that it won’t mattify your skin nor make it look dewy.

As you can see from the swatch, it has little white dots. These are the ceramide capsules. Once you spread it unto the skin, they dissolve to deliver the active ingredient better.

Overall, I’m obsessed with this cream. I truly believe that I’ve finally found my perfect moisturizer (at least for the colder season). This provides me with the right amount of moisture that lasts throughout the whole day. I even use this on the drier parts of my body such as my elbows and knees.

Upon using this cream for a few weeks, I’ve noticed great improvement in my skin barrier which can be attributed to the benefits of a ceramide cream. I’ll definitely repurchase this over and over again. In the summer, however, I do plan to get the gel version of this which I think would be great for hotter weather.

If you’re looking for a great basic moisturizer which you can use daily, I suggest you try this one. I swear you won’t regret it!

  1. Dear Cindyleen G, thank you for your nice review!
You implied that this cream could be safe to use on a small child. Because I’m interested in that aspect, I did a small check for the ingredients you kindly provided .
What I found out is that this cream contains several silicones (Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane and silicone-based Dimenticonol) and what is considered to be microbeads (Polyacrylate-13) . What are your thoughts on these kind of ingredients? 😉
