[REVIEW] Nature Republic Ginseng Royal Silk Wrinkle Up Spot

Nature Republic Ginseng Royal Silk Wrinkle Up Spot Review:

When I was in Seoul during the summer, I must have spent all my life savings in Myeongdong on K-beauty products (kidding….or am I?). I decided to venture outside my comfort zone and try some brands that I normally would not have even thought of purchasing. Nature Republic was one of those brands, mainly because they were everywhere and also because the salesperson was handing out sample sheet masks outside the store….I am a major sucker for freebies. I decided to venture outside my comfort zone and try some brands that I normally would not have even thought of purchasing.

One of their bestsellers was the Ginseng Royal Silk range. I bought a few products from that range but the one I started using first was the Wrinkle Up Spot. The saleslady told me that this product was good for removing wrinkles especially under the eyes and smile lines around the mouth. The main ingredient in this product is gold (99%) which promotes blood circulation and has a brightening effect. Perfect for dark circles! This product also contains ginseng for revitalization of the skin, silk compounds for cell regeneration and royal jelly which again, has brightening properties as well as helps to keep the skin firm and supple. “Sold!” – I thought to myself. Give me a tube of that golden ginseng goodness!

[REVIEW] The Face Shop Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisturizing Cream

[REVIEW] The Face Shop Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisturizing Cream

The Face Shop Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisturizing Cream Review:

I like buying products from Korean brands because they are generous with samples. It is a smart marketing strategy, because this helps to introduce the products to potential customers and increases the chances of customers buying full-size products later on.

I was browsing the shelves at The Face Shop one day, contemplating whether to get a full-size moisturizer after having tried out some sample sachets some time back. As usual, the ever-friendly sales staff came over and asked if I needed help. Noting my skin concern, she sailed me to another line – Yehwadam instead of the original one I was looking at. There are two types under the Yehwadam line – Revitalizing Moisturising (blue in colour) and Revitalizing (pink in colour). She recommended the former to me, which is more suited for oily skin while still addressing anti-aging needs. The highlight of course is the one plus one promotion that was going on. It is hard to resist a one plus one offer, isn’t it? And so I succumbed to her sales pitch. But I have no regrets for this.

[REVIEW] Pixi Peel & Polish

[REVIEW] Pixi Peel & Polish

Pixi Peel & Polish Review:

After dipping my toe into the world of Pixi Beauty, starting with the cult favourite Pixi Glow Tonic, I became very much interested in trying out more of their products. And the next product that caught my eye was the Pixi Peel & Polish.

Pixi Peel & Polish is a resurfacing concentrate mask, which contains 6% lactic acid, papaya fruit extract and sugar cane extract. It also has tiny granules in it that can act as a gentle physical exfoliator. I’ve stopped using physical exfoliants for a long time, but I was very much interested to incorporate lactic acid into my skincare routine (I have tried glycolic and mandelic acid previously), and this product seems gentle and intriguing enough for me to not to give it a try.

So, do I end up loving this Pixi Peel & Polish, or otherwise? Lets find out.

[REVIEW] Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream

[REVIEW] Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream

Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream Review:

Yes, this was a purchase made in hype. Every single AB message board or social network was buzzing about this cream. So many raving reviews, so many times mentioned as holy grail cream. It was even claimed to be discontinued (in panic) just to reappear like a Fenix. Who could possibly resist that? Not even a normal person, let alone me, skin care junkie. Every possible description of this cream had been written in kudos and I simply wanted to test it. Seems legit. Right? No? Ok then, it’s me.

So, let’s see how did this little hanbang wonder cream do on my needy, hard to please skin.

[REVIEW] Secret Key MaYu Healing Facial Cream

[REVIEW] Secret Key MaYu Healing Facial Cream

Secret Key MaYu Healing Facial Cream Review:

Today’s review is about one of my first Korean creams that I ever bought. And fell in love with the Asian skin care at all. Secret Key is Korean brand that started business in 2006. They claim to be in pursuit of healthy beauty with the reasonable price and natural and environmental friendly ingredients.

In addition, the horse oil as the cosmetics ingredient was pretty much exotic to me. So to speak. And so promising for my skin concerns.

Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Cleansing Foam Review:

One of the luxury Asian beauty brands that have been on my radar for quite some time now is none other than the famous Sulwhasoo. There are a few products that I am interested to try, but before I splurge on the full size I decided to get some trial sizes first. And I started with the Snowise EX Cleansing Foam.

[REVIEW] Graymelin Propolis 80 Energy Ampoule

[REVIEW] Graymelin Propolis 80 Energy Ampoule

Graymelin Propolis 80 Energy Ampoule Review:

One of those fashionable ingredients with enough hype to cope with is definitely propolis. Beeswax, bee saliva, and herbal sap mixed by bees to build and repair home of theirs, hives. Not so romantic to analyse it like that so I’ll skip to skin care use of it. Skin soothing, with anti-oxidative power ingredient. Nothing super powerful, but very alluring mixed in hanbang manner.

I already mentioned Korean niche brand Graymelin as the next big thing. Honestly, I was firstly lurking other popular propolis ampoules, but this one definitely prevailed as the ingredients list is way closer to my liking than any other.

[REVIEW] New 2017 AHC Natural Plus Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++

New 2017 AHC Natural Plus Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++ Review:

In the summer season I always get my hands on enough sun protection to last me for the whole year. Of course, being the sun protection lover I am, I always feel attracted to sun sticks for their practical abilities (also they can actually be washed if they fall on the sand). I love any type of sun cream I can carry in my bag – my most recent favorite being the Son Reve sun cream – and of course a sun stick is more practical to carry around.

So, seduced by Kang Sora’s perfect nose when she applies this sun stick, I got one. I even took it with me on vacation! (warning: vacation photo included)

[REVIEW] My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Facial Mask

[REVIEW] My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Facial Mask

My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Facial Mask Review:

Hyaluronic Acid or simply HA is one amongst skincare key ingredients nowadays. While it is in fact called “acid”, it works in a totally different manner. Hyaluronic Acid is known to be humectant or moisture-binding ingredient so despite the acid on its name this component actually makes your skin moisturized, hydrated and plump. Since I started using actives, I now appreciate moisturizing masks more than ever. I have used hyaluronic acid masks before but I find them mediocre. A fellow AB fan suggested that I try My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Facial Mask so I gave it a shot.
