[REVIEW] Innisfree Camellia Hair Color Cream 02 Deep Brown

Innisfree Camellia Hair Color Cream 02 Deep Brown Review:

I know what you’re thinking: Why would anyone review hair dye when there is so much more in K-beauty? You are right, but there is a good reason! Non-aggressive hair dyes don’t come easy, and this one comes in small pouches that allow you to use it to retouch your roots without purchasing it whole, and wasting most of it. Now, if you color your hair at home I dare you tell me that doesn’t sound good.

Claims:

+ Step 1 contains Camellia oil to care for hair with damage due to dyeing, and gives a silky coating to create more sleek hair.

+ The cream is mild and gives a rich and clear color by adapting to your hair.

+ Maximizes hair color power to create more vivid color.

Volume:

Hairdye 20g x 3, Oxidizer 20g x 3, Hair Pack 8ml

How to use:

1. Mix hairdye (no.1) and oxidizer (no.2).
2. Apply mixed liquid on your hair using comb.
3. Wait for 25 – 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

My Skin Type:

Oily roots, dry hair, sensitive skin. White hairs are grizzly and strong, and don’t grab dye well. And the rest of the hair is dark grey and doesn’t grab lighter colors.

See here what I talked about. Part 1 has three pouches of 20 g, part 2 has 3 pouches of 20g, and you get a free hair pack sample.

It comes with an explanatory paper inside but I don’t remember if it comes in English. So I’ll just let you know simply.
Mix part 1 and part 2 in a 1:1 ratio. Apply to dry hair. Rest for 25 to 30 minutes, rinse with water and wash with shampoo.

Now the reason I’m saying this is actually because of what I want to say next.

The first time I used this I applied all three packs in my hair (it’s long) because I wanted to make sure I could even out the hair color, right?

So then I got a second package (this one) and used just one pack to retouch the roots and see how it goes.

Then I used it a second time to retouch the roots and have written this review. On the third pack I took the photos. Which is where we are now.

My advice is that you do the same: use a whole box the first time to even out the hair, and then at packs to touch up the roots.

Here is the preparation procedure. It comes with that brush, the boat, ONE pair of gloves and ONE shoulder cover (I’m rolling my eyes so hard, but honestly I don’t use those things, I just know most people do).

Because it’s a relatively gentle dye the smell is less harsh on the nose than most (it doesn’t replace a good old vegan dye though). The smell doesn’t burn on the nose.

As you mix, and apply, it will start turning brown.

On the left you have to pay attention to a few things. The hair had been dyed completely once, and then retouched the roots once. This is one month after.

The dye on the white hairs started wearing off, giving me highlights, my original dark grey hair is seen at the roots, and the white roots are… white.

My original hair color is (by hair dresser standards) a dark grey equivalent to brown number two, which is this one.

HOWEVER if you consider buying black brown 01 know it’s basically black that shines brown instead of white or blue. Literally, unless you want black hair get brown 02. And before you say “I have actual black hair” know that the human body doesn’t produce real black anywhere, all it produces is incredibly dark brown, so black brown is actually your hair color!

After applying it covers everything perfectly! And the wear off is as you see on the left. The actual difference in real life is almost imperceptible and I notice I have to color my hair because I see the growth of the white hairs.

So I can’t help but recommend this if you color your hair at home!
