[REVIEW] Innisfree Oat Mild Moisture Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++

Innisfree Oat Mild Moisture Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++ Review:

I’m a total sunscreen junkie and always on the hunt for sunscreens that provide adequate coverage and don’t dry out my already dry skin. I’m trying to delay the aging process for as long as possible and sun is known to be the number one factor in premature aging so I take sun care very seriously!

Innisfree is one of my favorite Korean brands as a lot of their products use natural ingredients such as fruit and vegetables and many of the ingredients in their products come from Jeju Island. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Jeju Island, it’s known as the Hawaii of Korea.

Innisfree Oat Mild Moisture Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++ Review:

I bought this sunscreen because the product includes oat and claimed to give mild moisture. I was especially excited about the oat aspect as oats have anti-inflammatory properties and is also an antioxidant which helps combat dry skin.

Innisfree Oat Mild Moisture Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++ Review

The texture in this product is definitely more of a physical sunscreen. The product does not blend easily. It took me awhile to make sure there was no white cast.

I was also thinking it would smell like oat since it’s listed as one of the ingredients but there must only be a tiny amount as the sunscreen actually has a strong citrus scent.

After application, I felt a tightening feeling on my skin. This product definitely has a mattifying effect which is not the kind of look I like. On the plus side, the sunscreen did give my skin a tone up effect similar to what I get after using the Innisfree Tone Up Cream.

Basically, my skin tone looked brighter so I was happy about that. However, a few hours later I looked at my face in the natural light and saw that the product had accentuated the dry flaky areas on my forehead.

I knew this product had caused the flakiness because the sunscreen I was using prior to this did not cause any flakiness. I wanted to give this product a chance but I still got the same results whenever I used this sunscreen.

In addition, this product did not sit well underneath my foundation, primarily because it is a physical sunscreen which compared to chemical sunscreens does not sit well underneath makeup. So I only use this sunscreen on no makeup days.

The tightening feeling lasted on my face throughout the day and I could not wait to wash it off at night. Even though the sunscreen did give my face a brighter tone and appears to protect again the sun as I have not gotten tanner since using this product, the toning effect alone was not worth the cons.

Overall I am disappointed with the product since I bought it because of the moisturizing properties it promised.

This product will work well for those with oily or combination skin and for those who desire a more matte look.

I however will not be repurchasing this sunscreen as I have used other sunscreens that do not accentuate my dry areas.
