Innisfree My Foundation Glow 3.1 C13 Review:
My Foundation is a latest foundation from Innisfree. With such a simple name, I think it makes me more curious and want to try especially because of the unique shade numeration. If you notice, each foundation has different numbers (e.g : 3.1, 2.5, 1.3, etc) and from what I read from Innisfree website, it is a custom foundation so a lot of skin types can try this foundation.
With this shades range, personally I think this is a huge innovation especially from a Korean brand (which is famous for their limited shade range). I’m happy to see this foundation on my local Innisfree store so I got to swatch the shade first before purchasing it.
From what the personal assistant told me, the first number shows the foundation finish. 1 means Matte, 2 means Semi-matte, and 3 means Glow. The second number shows the coverage level, 1 being the lightest and 5 being the fullest.
+ The right level of moisture, coverage and shade for your skin!
+ The main option to choose foundation:
Choose among the 50 formulas designed depending on ① moisture level ② coverage level ③ shade level to find the optimum skin fit for your skin.

Innisfree My Foundation Glow 3.1 C13 Review:
It comes in a paper box packaging with a full list of its ingredients on the side and the bottle is made from a frosted glass material. It’s quite heavy so I won’t recommend it if you want to bring this foundation with you for travelling since it’s really fragile as well.
The packaging is so simple but I really like it. On the front part you can see the foundation’s detail (coverage and finish) so if you have several of this in a different number, you can find it easily.
I’m glad it has a pump so yay for hygiene! The pump also dispenses enough product and so far, I didn’t find any trouble with the pump. If I have to compare it, this foundation has a really similar style to Etude House Double Lasting Foundation (but I didn’t find it weird since the Etude one really hyped).
Among the selection, I pick 3.1 in shade C13 which is the lightest shade for cool undertone. I thought the shade would look very pink on me but in real life, the shade has more neutral undertone and it matches me perfectly.
I have oily skin but at that time, I have so many dry patches so a matte foundation is a big no-no. I have enough matte and semi-matte foundations so I decided to get the glowy one instead.
Most of the times, a glowy foundation with high coverage will look cakey on me so I try to avoid that type of foundations. That’s why I get the light coverage because with the glowy finish, it will give my skin a “My Skin but Better” effect.
I don’t mind light coverage as long it feels lightweight and not cakey on my skin. If you love high coverage, you can choose number 5 and if you want a decent coverage, you can choose number 2 or 3. This is what I love the most from the foundation, it suits every skin problem out there. The bad side is there’s no shade that deep enough for people with darker skin tones.
I have to say this foundation feels like nothing on my skin! It feels like a tinted moisturizer and it looks so good and makes my skin looks healthy. It does feel a little bit too glowy for me but with a light dap of powder, I have no problem at all.
I do have textured skin with dry patches here and there but this foundation doesn’t emphasis those at all which I really love. It’s hard to find a foundation that doesn’t emphasis my skin problems so I really appreciate it.
With this coverage, it doesn’t cover my imperfections. It doesn’t cover my pimples, zits, acne scars, and dark spots at all but it will cover redness on your face so it’s really good if you need to go somewhere close but doesn’t want to wear a heavy makeup.
To apply it, I prefer using a sponge to a brush because with a brush, it looks more streaky and it doesn’t spread the product evenly. With a sponge, you will get less coverage but the finish is more flawless and smooth.
I tried using different kind of foundation brushes (stippling brush, flat top foundation brush, and flat-paddle foundation brush) but none are working well. I think it’s because the foundation has a very thin texture, it’s hard to apply with a brush.
I did an oil test with a blotting paper and if you can see, even after only 1 hour, it produced a lot of oil and after 3 hours, the oil is uncontrollable. I have oily skin so I’m a bit afraid if this foundation will make my face looks like a mess.
I thought it will wear off faster than my other foundations but turns out it has an average lasting power! I used it for working and even after 8 hours, the foundation still looks okay and there’s no hint of patchiness at all!
It doesn’t clog my pores and it doesn’t settle into my fine lines too. It does look very oily mainly on the T-zone though but with a little bit of touch up, it won’t be a problem anymore.
If you love light and natural makeup, then I’m sure you will love this foundation. If you have really dry skin, I think you’ll love it too. But if you have severe oily skin and don’t like wearing a powder, better avoid it and try the other finishes instead.
It has a pretty high price for Innisfree but with how comfortable this foundation feels on my skin, i think it’s worth it.
