[REVIEW] Innisfree My Styling Recipe Hair Fixing Water Spray

Innisfree My Styling Recipe Hair Fixing Water Spray Review:

I have not been using hair spray for quite some time, as the last hair spray I tried was not very effective. I had borrowed my mother’s hair spray just to try it out, but the spray made my hair strands stick together in a weird way. There were also white specks left on my hair which I had to pick out manually. It was difficult to spray consistently over the hair to make sure these white specks don’t appear.
It seemed like so much trouble, and so I stayed away from hair spray for the past few years.

I came across the new Water Spray from Innisfree recently, which is part of their expanding hair care / styling line. The product highlighted that its water-type formula will not harden the hair or leave white specks, which are basically my two concerns with using hair spray. I tried the tester in the store, and was quite happy with the result. My hair has become quite dry and frizzy after repeated dye jobs, and so I decided to give this spray a try.

Claims:

+ According to the Innisfree website, this spray utilizes a water-type formula which “enables a long-lasting clean style that looks natural without hardening or leaving white powder.” It also contains sunflower seed oil (a layer of protection for hair strands) and pomegranate and peach seeds (boost shine and softness of hair).

I have always liked Innisfree’s simple and functional product design, and this was no different. The spray comes in a handy slim bottle, and each spray gives just a slight amount of product, so it is easier to control the amount of fix you want on different parts of the hair, or on different days.

I have been using this water spray for the past few weeks, as the last step of my routine. Overall, it has lived up to my expectations, and is a big improvement from the last spray I tried.

It does create a natural style, where there are no visible patches of hardened stiff hair. However, when I run my fingers over my hair, I can feel just a little bit of stiffness (which is fine since it is not obvious). For a water-based spray, it dries up pretty quickly as well.

However, if you would need a stronger fix (for example on windy days or simply bad hair days) do use a hair dryer to dry the hair after two to three sprays, instead of just spraying multiple times (which would probably cause stiffness and a damp look to your hair).

There is a faint smell that is typical of all hair sprays, but the smell is definitely lesser than other sprays, which is good. Although peach and pomegranate seed extracts are part of the ingredients, there’s no hint of them in the smell at all.

Overall, I will recommend this product to those with dry frizzy hair like mine. In humid weather, my hair becomes frizzier and harder to manage, with hair strands poking in different directions. The hair spray helps to keep the hair set in its intended style, while keeping a natural look.

The price is also quite reasonable as compared to other hair sprays in the market. If you are just looking for something to keep your hair moisturized, you can also look at Innisfree’s hair mists, for dry hair / curly hair or damaged hair.
