iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum Review:
It is a constant struggle to find something for my dehydrated yet oily skin. Since I loved the COSRX ultimate moisturizing honey mask so much, I decided to search online for propolis related serums or moisturizers. That is when I found the iUNIK propolis serum! I was impressed by their high percentage of propolis extract at 70% for their affordable price at 22SGD (US16) dollars, and decided to take the plunge and purchase it for myself!

iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum Review:
Running through the ingredients on the CosDNA and EWG website, it seems that all the ingredients here are very safe, so people with sensitive skin like myself can safety use this without fear yay! Most importantly, the key ingredients are in high concentrations as well, sufficient for it to be effective.
For myself, I apply it after my COSRX blackhead power liquid toner and before my moisturizer. I use the dropper and drop around 2-3 drops onto my fingers and apply it directly onto the skin by gently patting it until it is absorbed. Usually, this is enough to cover my cheek area, which is the area I focus on because I have combination skin and my cheeks are drier than my T-zone.
However, if you have dry skin, you can apply it all over your face. The serum is extremely lightweight and it absorbs quickly into the skin, hence it should be applied before any thicker creams and lotions such as moisturizers. It spreads easily with the consistency being slightly thicker than water and absorbs into the skin within a few seconds.
It is not sticky or greasy at all, and it does have any strong fragrance, which is also good for my sensitive skin.
NOTE: Do note that not everyone’s skin will react well to propolis, so do be careful if you have any allergies or sensitivity to honey. For myself personally, my skin loves propolis and another one of my staple mask is the COSRX honey mask.
Needless to say, my skin just drinks this serum up and it really calms and soothes my skin. I use this every alternate day or whenever I notice my skin becoming dry or irritated, this tends to do the trick in calming my redness down. Because my skin is also quite dehydrated, I feel that this does help in providing additional hydration and moisture.
However, I still have to use a moisturizer after this, so this serum will not be replacing my moisturizer anytime soon.
As for the brightening and whitening effects, personally I do not feel that I became fairer?! However, there is a slight glow immediately after applying the serum, which might be due to the vitamin C, which is a definite plus! Who doesn’t want glowing skin?
However, personally I do not think that there are any whitening effects. Hence, I would not recommend this if you are looking to have fairer skin but it does help with dull skin. As for wrinkles, I don’t have that many wrinkles yet as I am only in my early 20s, thank goodness! So sorry I am unable to comment on that. But of course if it is able to moisturize and hydrate, it will reduce the appearance of wrinkles in general.
It is quite affordable as well for a 50ml bottle, and I’m not even 1/3 through after using it daily for around 2 months.
I would rate this serum 4/5. If you are looking for something that will moisturize, hydrate, calm, and revitalize dry and dull skin, this serum will be perfect! It is also gentle and effective for dry to sensitive skin types. I deducted one point because I’m not sure about the whitening and winkle care claims. I would repurchase this if I ever finish it up. ☺
