KEEP COOL Ocean Intensive Hydrating Mask Review:
KEEP COOL is a Korean brand under Samsung Medicos, Co. Ltd. that might not be popular among the world. Well, at least I haven’t heard this brand before, until I accidentally found its account on Instagram. KEEP COOL managed to catch my eyes since it has soft, pastel-dominated colors and safe ingredients claims. Actually this ‘KEEP COOL and Ocean’ is one of their three skincare lines beside ‘KEEP COOL and Shine’ and ‘KEEP COOL and Soothe’. While I personally would rather try the ‘KEEP COOL and Shine’ line due to its target (for dull skin and brightening result), I only had the chance to try ‘KEEP COOL and Ocean’ line (whose target is for dry skin and moisturizing result). Not that I’m complaining, though, since KEEP COOL isn’t sold widely outside South Korea and I realize I might not have any chances to try their products again in the future. So, let’s check the review out!
KEEP COOL and Ocean Mask accentuates to have ‘Super-Thin Second Skin Sheet’ and contain ‘Nature Happiness Recipe’ (Seawater, Spirulina, Chlorella, Glasswort, and Green Confertii from deep coastal water). Thus, you might wonder what’s behind the brand, why ‘KEEP COOL’? Turns out one notable highlight is to be the ‘cool keeper’, since KEEP COOL always adds Scutellaria Baicalensis, Lonicerae Flos, and Forsythia Fruit that are well-known to have natural fever reducing effect that cools down skin and maintain best skin condition.
+ The synergy generated from astaxanthin, and deep sea water slows down skin ageing process and delivers concentrated hydration.
+ The second skin mask sheet perfectly fits your skin.
+ Moisturizing daily sheet mask that provides strong moisture and nutrition for dry skin.

KEEP COOL Ocean Intensive Hydrating Mask Review:
All of KEEP COOL lines I mentioned before are dominated with white and different pastel colors for each line. ‘KEEP COOL and Ocean’ especially is soft blue-and-white colored with doff material. This design seems interestingly minimalist and illustrates ocean very well in my personal opinion. Almost all products information of KEEP COOL Ocean Intensive Hydrating Mask could be found on the packaging in Korean and English (except for the product claim) using white ink, which I find very helpful.
The scent was one of its features that left notable impression to me, while the other one was the sheet itself. KEEP COOL Ocean Intensive Hydrating Mask has very strong feminine scent; it was floral mixed with baby’s perfume. The scent was fast to recede as I wore the sheet mask, but I still categorized this as a shortcoming since it keep stinging my nose each time I applied the remaining essence to my face for the next few days.
However, the sheet mask was unforgettable. It was made by such a thin smooth material that I had to agree with the ‘second skin’ claim. Once I put it on my face, it glued perfectly although the size was a little bit too wide for me. KEEP COOL was very considerate to put an additional plastic layer to help unfolding the sheet, since it was difficult to unfold due to the generous amount of the essence and the very thin material.
However, the layer is quite unusual; while I always find face-shaped layers from other brands, KEEP COOL provides only a half-shaped one. You can look at the picture for more detailed illustration.
However, the nice feeling of putting the sheet mask on my skin wasn’t lingering for a long time. It left me with no ‘woah’ feeling; my skin was definitely more hydrated but this just wouldn’t enough for a dry skin bearer. Sadly this effect was temporary too. My more-hydrated skin left me right after I washed my face in the morning. Considering KEEP COOL Ocean Intensive Hydrating Mask’s claim to moisturize dry skin, even I as an oily skin bearer wasn’t satisfied enough with the result.
Comparing the result on my skin to the claim of KEEP COOL Ocean Intensive Hydrating Mask, I will elaborate it briefly.
Slows down ageing process: I don’t think this claim could be proved in short time of usage.
Delivers concentrated hydration: Yes, this product gives nice hydrated feeling to my skin, plus aided by the thin material.
Provides strong moisture and nutrition for dry skin: I’m somehow agree that this product moisturizes and gives nutrition to my skin as an oily-skin bearer. However, I don’t think the moisture provided is enough for the dry skin.
However, please take note that all the result is very subjective and others could experience different result.
One more thing that I find pleasant from KEEP COOL Ocean Intensive Hydrating Mask was its safe ingredients list. At least, it meets my minimal requirements of not containing alcohol and paraben. According to cosDNA, it looks clear that KEEP COOL pays more attention to keep the healthy ingredients. Most of them are natural fragrances with low-risk safety index. Seeing that only two components have medium-risk, I guess this product wouldn’t harm anyone.
I don’t suggest a dry skin bearer to expect too much, or anyone who looks for a highly moisturizing mask. Anyone with sensitive skin should also take more caution to this product due to its fragrance content, but considering the interesting sheet material, it’s worth trying.
