[REVIEW] KOSE Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil

KOSE Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil Review:

I don’t know about you but the first Japanese skincare product I heard of was Kose’s cleansing oil. It felt like I accomplished something from my bucket list after I got this one; Even though I chose it only because it’s one if not the most affordable oil cleanser out there (and I’m the thriftiest millennial alive).

Kose’s oils get very mixed reviews, people usually either hate them or completely love them. I thought I’d try my luck with this one. At worst, my acne would get worse (something that happens anyways even if I just drink water from a different glass😒)..

Claims:

– Removes makeup very quickly

How to use:

1. Press the pump a couple of times and gently massage on dry skin (I did try it on wet skin many times, even though it’s not supposed to work it does its job😉), after you’re done, rinse with water and proceed to cleanse with a foam cleanser.

My skin type: Acne prone, oily and dry combination

KOSE Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil Review:

Starting off with the packaging, I only have to say one thing, “as expected, from Japan”. I love the attention they paid to all the small details. From the small hearts at the top of the packaging, to the pink color, to the protective grip that was on it so that it wouldn’t spill while being delivered, to the length of the pump that of course reaches the center if my palm. Kose made me feel special with this product. It’s so simple yet I feel like they made it exclusively for me.

At first, I was surprised with how much product one pump gets out; since I’m used to thicker textures and this one is like water (but it’s also oily duh). One pump is actually not really enough; It is OK for me but I always need less than most people, I’d say one to two pumps are OK for most (one website suggests 4 pumps; that’s A LOT).

Something I especially loved about this oil is that when it comes in contact with water, it becomes white; that helps with making sure you’ve rinsed all of it. Also, you can use it with already wet hands; which I love because I always wash my hands and brush my teeth before I begin my routine.

It’s performance is great. As claimed, it even removes mascara. Also, it really doesn’t need a lot of time to do the job; I probably only use it for 20 seconds max. It doesn’t irritate the eyes but still, don’t get it in your eyes, that’s non hygienic.

It also removes foundation effectively but I think even someone with a magic spell against pimples would get a breakout if they didn’t use a second cleanser. I personally really like the feel it has when I massage it on my skin. It has a smell but it’s too faint to distinguish what it is. Did I mention that it’s pink; 💕

Overall, I will definitely repurchase. I’ll try the other two variations of this product first and then I might consider switching back to this one. It’s not a miracle product, it’s simple yet, it’s amazing. I totally recommend this to anyone who’s face doesn’t get irritated easily. I also think people with very dry skin aren’t going to really like this either. To everyone else, trust me this is great.
